    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

My EA box blade. They were the cheapest, heaviest blade (96") I could find. I'm new to using a box blade so I am learning but it has held up to an old stone area I was loosening up with the teeth. I have also ripped out some decent roots clearing a path through the woods. Gannon had a similar...

    I don't understand something.

I have an 80's (SAME) tractor and an early 00's (Farmtrac)tractor. I use each tractor for different tasks. The SAME is 75hp and the Farmtrac is 95hp. Since the Farmtrac is more comfortable to sit in for long periods, it gets used much more often. Also, having the SSQA makes it my goto for moving...

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

We're trying too. Part of the reason were spending a little more to accomplish the goals for the summer so we can do things with them. I really can't wait until they are old enough to help with chores. They help now but the moment they can safely use a chainsaw, life will be a bit easier.

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

If time is the most important criteria, then paying someone to get the job done might not be a bad idea. Then more research can be done to find the exact implement you want and if there is a wait time, it won't be so bad cause the job you "need" done now, will be taken care of. You need to value...

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

If the "inferior" product works to get the job done then why bother ordering the "premium" one. Even if the grapple is banged up and rough looking, you would still be able to get a decent portion of your money back, at least at the auctions around here. The only issue I would have with a...

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

I ordered my box blade from EA (took about 4 months). I needed something heavy for my tractor and the only options I found were EA and Gannon. EA was the cheaper one to go with. I got their 96" xtreme box blade. Gannon had some nice options but I couldn't justify the extra cost.

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

Looks nice but would definitely need more protection for that hose on the cylinder when working with logs or brush. I also wonder how much of an annoyance it would be when mounted to the FEL bucket while trying to do dirt or small stone work.. It is probably cheaper to get this set up and find...

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

I can comment on the shipping (from EA) to here in Western NY as I received my box blade in June so its recent. It was an extra 118 bucks to have it shipped to my residential address. To add to that, the freight company botched my delivery day and wanted to reschedule. I said no, I'll be there...

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

If I recall right, shipping was "free" or included already in the quoted price they gave me when I got mine a few years ago. When I'm cleaning manure with mine, I wish I would've gotten something lighter and when I'm working with logs, brush, etc I am glad I got something this durable. I have...

    EA Attachments vs Homestead Implements

Just tossing it out there, have you looked at Jenkins Iron and Steel? https://jenkinsironandsteel.com/products/Brush-Grapple/3/ I have a pretty heavy duty grapple from there and is well made. Might be a bit heavier than the other options but might be worth looking at too. Website says 3 week...

Anyone with airboss tires on their tractors?

I was looking at backhoes for sale and came across a Case 580K loader with airboss tires on the front. They looked neat so I had to look it up and see what it was about. https://www.airbosstyre.com/ Not sure if this is the only website as I literally just looked and figured I would ask here...

Magnetic mounting hardware for round baler control box?

The chain was oiled. We had just replaced it after the last field I did because the old chain was really worn out and kept popping off the sprocket. The 2 (80size) chains we had were slightly different and I believe the 1 master link we used didn't fully snap together although it seemed like it...

Magnetic mounting hardware for round baler control box?

Well after last night, I may ditch the control box and hook a toggle switch to the twine arm. The main chain on my new (to me) baler broke and jammed up while at full rpm and the tractor just came to a dead stop and shut off. I got the chain fixed but now the control box doesn't work. The fuse...

Magnetic mounting hardware for round baler control box?

I store my bales outside so the mice prefer to chew the bale and not so much the string. Even for the bales that are sitting, it's the weather that deteriorates the strings. It's all for my personal use but I'd like to be able to have less waste and a used net wrap baler should cost less than a...

    Footing for horse arena, done!

The dry screenings was the most expensive part and it took 430 tons to get what we needed and we paid for a days labor to grad it properly.

    TODAYS SEAT TIME

    Footing for horse arena, done!

Thanks! It cost quite a bit to get that pad done right and I think the footing is just right. It's not too soft if I have the depth right, which is most areas. I did have some deeper areas that I hit with the box blade after my wife was done. It is a "gritty" sand but doesn't seem overly...

    Footing for horse arena, done!

Finally got our outdoor horse arena footing done! We used concrete sand from the closest quarry that had it and had it listed as used in horse arenas. 260 tons total came in yesterday and I took the day off to spread it around as it was delivered. Have just a small pile left over and it is...

Magnetic mounting hardware for round baler control box?

Are you talking about stored bundles in the packaging or in the balers? No issue with either for my small amount that I use. Although, now that I said it, I will probably start finding mice in the stuff! I just hate picking out that plastic twine from round bales and if you miss any, it gets...

Magnetic mounting hardware for round baler control box?

My homemade holder. It's ugly but it works. The little magnet is useless and wasn't strong enough, even with 2 so I had the bigger magnet around and used that.

    Box Blade

I believe this particular line (7xx) series may be all SAME. The smaller models look closer to the old Ford style tractors. I haven't seen any others to know for sure though.

    Box Blade

Hah, it's the explorer II engine if I recall the parts manual correctly. It's a great tractor so far but parts can be expensive. I don't mind the farmtrac logo :) BTW, what gave you the impression it was a SAME?

Yesterday. Would you buy and EV?

Just brainstorming is all. Never know how technology will change in the future. Maybe someday it'll be possible. A diesel hybrid would be nice. Maybe they can do that with a 3/4 ton truck and make it affordable.....................

Yesterday. Would you buy and EV?

I was in the boat of looking at trading in my car for something more economical and the only thing that made sense to me at this stage was a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. The plug-in hybrid would be a perfect for myself since it can be charged at home and you can run up-to 40 miles on strictly...

Magnetic mounting hardware for round baler control box?

I'll update with some pictures later but yes, the emblem holder worked. The bracket on the control box fit just a bit more than half way into the holder. I bolted the holder to a piece of flat iron and made a 90 degree bend at the bottom then welded that to another piece of flat iron (I have...

    Box Blade

I got the HTL on last night and got a chance to play around with the pile of dirt that was there. I definitely never knew what I was missing. TRACTOR SLUNG PTO SHAFT!!! - PICS.

That looked like it sounded rough. One of the things I like about my old same 75, I can ease the PTO on. Works great for the brush hog so that it doesn't jerk it around.

Are Farmtracs hard to service and repair?

Just a little update on the parts since I've had the tractor for a few years now. It hasn't been an issue. The guy at Hoover's tractor has the connection to Italy and I've had small parts delivered in less than a week and nothing over 2 weeks for anything I've ordered that had to come from...

    Farmtrac 545DTC Hydraulic?

Which page of the parts manual are you comparing it too? The hydraulic pump on my Farmtrac is on the underside of the tractor. It took me a bit to find it but I followed the hydraulic lines until I saw something similar to the part in the manual.

Magnetic mounting hardware for round baler control box?

Anyone happen to have a line on where to find some magnetic hardware for a control box? The round baler I just got (Gehl 2580) didn't have a bracket with it for the control box. It has a plate on the back of the control box that looks like it would slide into a frame but that is it. I'll post of...

    Outdoor horse arena footing?

I wasn't adding 10 inches of sand. It was 10"s of clay that I wanted. This field has been underwater before during a really heavy rainstorm (about 4"s of rain in less than 24 hours). It was about 8-10"s of water throughout the entire field. It couldn't drain fast enough anymore since the town...

    Outdoor horse arena footing?

Thanks! Basically just your typical riding and maybe some barrel racing. No jumping or dressage. I would like it to last forever or at least until we decide to enclose it.... I don't mind much maintenance. I have a few pieces of equipment that should make it easy. Drainage, we had the base...
