OK ... I only had 1 acre remaining to mow today. This would be enough, given the experience of the last few days, to get the engine over temp. I am happy to report ... I finished the entire acre without getting above the marked "normal" operation level :) I've attached a pic so you can see...

    kioti running hot

Yesterday, I replaced the air filter and blew out the radiator. There was quite a bit of crud in the fins. I'll get a chance today to see if it solves my problem.

    kioti running hot

I bought 20 "rough" acres to prevent a pot grower from setting up shop next to my property. It was bulldozed to clear trees and left as a complete mess. It is a mix of grass and every weed known to man. It is quite thick and average height at this time is about 18 inches. Everything is in bloom.

Temp scale is bracketed low/high and has 2 dots for normal operating range. My temp runs almost to the upper limit of the bracketed display ... just below HOT. The mower has only been used 2 seasons ... couldn't have hit more than a few hundred rocks! Not easy to get under one of these beast...

Good suggestion. Thanks. The screen(s) are clear. Kioti designed those so you can only remove one and shake it clean - unless you unhook an air hose. I modified mine with a Dremel so I can slide both of them out in the field.

DK50SEHST with Landpride mower RCR1872 I cannot keep the engine temp under control when brush hogging. I do have to say it's 98 outside right now :) I'm mowing in Low and have varied the RPMs from 1800 to 2400 - even raised the deck an inch or two and narrowed the mow bite to about 5 feet. It...

Hay Farmers getting out of farming

I have no need for hay - so I have others come cut/bale/haul out. The property, for me, is not about making money ... I am retired. All I want is for the grass to be cut. My goal is solely to bring in enough money to provide enough herbicide/fertilizer to make the grass desirable. This is...

    Upcoming Wedding - advice needed

I am sorry to hear that. We are all just one bad decision away from ruining our lives. My daughter made the biggest mistake of her life by choosing the wrong guy. I NEVER liked him. I told her, after the first meeting, to dump him because the furthest thing from his mind was opening her car...

    Upcoming Wedding - advice needed

Congratulations. I've always found smaller ceremonies - both weddings/funerals - to be preferable. Each of these events can easily be exploited via emotions and see many thousands of dollars wasted. Of course - each to their own. Above all else ... I hope your daughter has found a GOOD man...

Need advice on a larger chainsaw for an older guy.

I own 2 Husqvarna 455 Ranchers. The 2nd was laying in a friends shed for years and may have never been used. He gave it to a few months back. I've had the other one for years and it has been flawless ... with the exception of the chain brake. I think I'm going to drop both of them off for...

Have you seen the video of the FBI plant with a bullhorn? Urging the crowd to go forward? He was only one of many. Have you seen any of the citizens carrying firearms? NO. Have you heard/read that many of the "assaults" on officers never happened? And, of course, you know the only fatality...

From the scenes, it looks like a mob - took hours - to go through the train, rip open boxes and haul away their plunder. Where the Hxll was security? Why were there apparently no arrests? What ever happened to shooting looters? Our country has lost its mind. Very sad to see our demise in real...

    Supply is getting better

"IF" this has "anything" to do with money .. it is just this: There is always someone willing to sell their soul, disregard logic/decency/patriotism and betray their nation for CASH. Frankly, when it comes to "wokeism", I doubt dollars matter - because the cult itself outweighs all concerns...

    Supply is getting better

United States' electricity producers paid about 2.39 U.S. dollars per million British thermal unit for natural gas in 2020. Meanwhile, coal power plant operators paid an average of 1.92 U.S. dollars. Coal is "obsolete" only because it has come under attack from (fill in your choice of mental...

    Supply is getting better

Ideology trumps common sense: NY has banned Natural Gas to new buildings - even though NG is one of the cleanest sources of energy. The US has enough Natural Gas and Coal to power itself for centuries - ECONOMICALLY - if the crazies would just get back on their meds.

    UTV - Trying to Decide

Amazing how much some of these things cost. You could buy a nice used 4x4 truck for equivalent money. Having said that ... I do own a UTV ... bought it about 5 years ago for $10K. It is a Cub Cadet Volunteer. It's been a pretty good UTV but I think it's about time to have some transmission...

    Big Cars are killing Americans

It's Time For Medicare (whether I want it or not)

My 1st year Medicare I was just as confused as anyone. Wound up on the plan offered to retirees from my former employer ... Aetna Advantage. Status Update: Received all the parts rods/seals from the Kioti dealer. Went to put it all together only to discover the seal kits were missing pieces. Rather than reorder and hope the next set was correct, I picked up the missing seals from Hyspeco ... $45. Spent about 2 hours reassembling...

    I'm not the only dummy

Yes .... maybe. I hope to get the details of my options today/tomorrow. Will post the result. I actually like the idea of moving to cylinders with standard pivot pins. It would make any future failures much cheaper and much faster to resolve.

Well ... not one response to my queries from anyone that sells cylinders. I did get a call from Hyspeco on a rebuild. Since I broke one rod and bent the 2nd - both cylinders needed to be replaced or rebuilt. Cost new is over $600 each. I'm sorry - but I just refuse to be extorted for these...
