    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 57 now, high of 65 or so. And the clouds have cleared out. Rain 1, Kawasaki 0. But we did have an awesome rainbow last evening after we got home and unloaded. But, the Kawasaki got a lot of attention before the rain started. People were impressed by it. So that made me feel good...

    Good morning!!!!

Happy Birthday @Popgadget happy anniversary @sodamo Weather is still questionable for tonight. Manager of the facility says no rain yet. I am nervous. Been a long time since someone raced “my” bike. Keep thinking I have forgotten something, overlooked something, or missed something. It was...

    Who rides motorcycles?

Weather permitting, the Kawasaki race bike makes it’s debut on Saturday. We had a tire changing party Wednesday night and some shakedown rides on the road. Johnny was really grinning after going over the bike and riding it. His dad took a few spins too.

    Good morning!!!!

Rear brake only. It is in the rules. It is similar to speedway, but much larger tracks. Good riders actually do a lot of “braking” by sliding the front wheel going into a turn

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 54 now, 62 or so later. Need to empty the truck, it is full of motorcycle stuff, had a tire changing party last night in Wadsworth on the race bike. Got home late, left it all in the truck. And wife wants to grocery shop today. If the weather cooperates, the race bike is making...

    Good morning!!!!

Any lubricant or specialty fluid for motorcycles is expensive. Last week 1/2 gallon of Evans Waterless Coolant was $34.50, and that didn’t get the radiator full. 33.4 ounce bottle of 10W fork oil was $19.95. And I need 18 ounce/leg.

    Good morning!!!!

@RoyJackson - not eating for 5 days with c0¥|d was part of me spending 3 weeks in the Cleveland Clinic Resort and Spa. You likely need medical attention ASAP.

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! Moving slow this morning, my back and arms are reminding me i split a lot of wood yesterday. 65 now, forecast high is 69. Had a mild thunderstorm this morning, still have a chance of rain today. Only real plan today is to take the race bike to my BIL to weld the exhaust brackets...

    Good morning!!!!

Yea @RedNeckGeek, PO’s on any motorcycle are interesting….old bikes I can sort of understand, but crap workmanship on a modern twins class race bike is just bush league. Oddly though, sent pics of some of the finished bike bits to a friend who is quite well known in production twins class and he...

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 50 now, was 40 when I got up. High of 63 maybe today. Had wind gust up to 25 MPH yesterday, steady winds of 17. It got chilly while mowing. Dinner/concert was good. Little cool, was 59 when we got there. We had dressed for it. Got there early enough we got to sit under the heater...

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 62 now, predicted high of 69. Not sure it will make it. Going to see a band tonight, they are having an “Equinox Concert”. Need to dress warm, it is outdoors. Grocery shopping yesterday and some more work on the spare mower. Finally figured out why it has belt tension issues...

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 73 now, predicted to get to 86 today. And possible strong storms later. Then a cool off is coming. I found a leak on the race bike where the crank position sensor wires come out of the cases. The wires were pulled tight with a very stiff aftermarket loom over it. Fixed that and...

    Good morning!!!!

HBD to Mark’s wife. The Kawasaki race bike is now officially a runner. When I won it in the raffle, it was allegedly “ready to race”. No it wasn’t…..it was a $100 motorcycle that needed a lot of work. And parts. It still needs some odds and ends, but it runs, it is amazingly quick…wow! Even...

You better check possible legal ramifications of what you are asking to do. The EPA is brutal on people who get caught.

    Good morning!!!!

Oddly, since I had €0\/!% back in late 2020, by my count, I have had about 35 close encounters with people who tested + ranging from hours to a few days later. With the exception of some sniffles/congestion due to fall allergies this year, I have had nothin.

    Good morning!!!!

I don’t care for the split polyethylene loom either. But this is accumulation of oddball stuff I ended up with from my working life projects. Plus, this is a temporary harness to use as a pattern. Holley Fuel Systems sells a nice split loom woven material for their fuel injection systems. I...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

I kinda cut back on my muzzle loading, but memory says no, you can’t shoot that wide of a range without adjusting powder weight. I know round ball versus conical in a .50 caliber Hawken is different powder weight. IME, muzzleloaders are finicky on powder charge and projectile. Takes a while to...

    Good morning!!!!

Good evening. Got the winter firewood straightened out and covers are up to protect the wood. More to split likely tomorrow. Then finished the wiring on the Kawasaki race bike. I “saved“ the harness it originally had to get it running. Long term plan is to modify another stock harness, I need...

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 67 now, predicted to get to 70. High for tomorrow of 67. Sounds like tomorrow the log splitter is gonna get a work out. Ted, too late now since you have it out, but in an aluminum case, set it so the bearing faces down and put a heat source under it. I use an old hot plate set on...

    Stihl MS180C coil failures

Not sure I found the smoking gun, but found something odd and interesting today. Installed a new coil. In the process of setting the coil to flywheel gap, I found the top screw on the coil was tight, but the coil was not tight against the cylinder. The bottom screw would tighten the coil...

    Good morning!!!!

The electronics aren’t that scary. I went from scratching my head over what I got myself into to have a pretty good understanding of the engine management system of a Kawasaki EX650 that landed in my garage. Helps the electrical system is “simplified” to on/off, start, and engine management.

    Stihl MS180C coil failures

I have been using Bosch plugs. My wife likes the saw. Which is good as she helps with firewood duties. We talked it over. “She” is going to buy a new saw. She wants this one for back up. So I ordered 2 fleaBay coils @ $12.00/ea. I am going to look at the parts diagram carefully and see if...

    Good morning!!!!

OEM Stihl coils each time. I am frustrated with this saw. My MS290 is 20 years old and has only ever needed maintenance parts and consumables. This MS180 has coil issues. To the point I don’t trust it now.

    Stihl MS180C coil failures

I have a Stihl MS180C (actually, it is my wife’s saw). It is about 6 years old. So far, it has failed 3 coils. The original lasted about 2 1/2 years. Saw started, was running fine warming up and just shut off, no spark. 2nd coil lasted about 2 1/2 years. The saw was getting a lot of use due to...

Good morning! 70 now, just rained again. Supposed to get to 77 today. Had several short, heavy rains yesterday. Put up a HF LED light in the garage. Pretty impressive light from a single tube. When they go on sale again, gonna pick up some more. Then retire some more fluorescent fixtures. Made...

    Good morning!!!!

Good afternoon! At Ashland County Fairgrounds for a race. It is a very pleasant 78. Not working as hard tonight. Both Yamaha’s broke the rubber bands last night. So we are running the Hooligan bike in the All Star twins class and the Hooligan class. Johnny will be riding a KTM for the first...

Why are replacement parts so incredibly expensive?

Having worked in the whole goods industry (construction equipment) in a variety of functions, product support the longest, I can assure you selling OEM replacement parts is not “gouging”. There is significant overhead in the service parts business along with different pricing classes of service...

Add rear hydraulics to a ford 1600 tractor

You need to find the PB (power beyond) port on your loader control valve, if it has one. You can run a line from PB to the rear valve, then to PB port on the tractor near the pump. You will also need to run a tank line.

Good evening! Haven’t been in the house too long, been outside all day. Another pleasant day in Ohio. Got the mowing done. Wife helped, first time she has mowed in a month. That mess stayed north of us. Odd, didn’t get an alert on the phone about the tornado warning. Looks like it extended into Bucks Two. where I live. There is thunder and lightning again. Been off and on storms all night. Been awake since 3….. way too early to be up.

    Good morning!!!!

Thanks for the thoughts. I gave up on wooden sawhorses. I had a set of wooden sawhorses. They always seemed to be in the way, were rickety, and not very stable. Got a set of metal fold up sawhorses at Lowe’s, quite enjoyed burning the wooden set!. I really like the steel ones Everyone stay...

Didn’t get much rain @rswyan. Some thunder/lightning/ rain, but nothing too exciting. But then, after June 14th….this was just a shower… Been hectic, my MIL passed yesterday morning after 12 days in hospice. She was a fighter. Barb was a good woman, treated me great. She will be missed. The...

Good afternoon! It’s 90 and humid. Likely another in the shade day. yesterday was productive. Got the spare Craftsman garden tractor my wife bought this spring working. It charges, it drives and stops, and it actually mows well. Little odd getting used to the 6 speed trans, especially the...

Good morning! 64 now, 90 later. Think it is gonna be an in the shade kinda day. A lot has happened since I last posted something. Went to Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid Ohio. Been going since 1996. 2022 was likely my last visit. The event has become chaos. The thing that finished it was the...

Husqvarna LGT 24K54 - mower deck belt jumping off. AGAIN

If you haven’t replaced the idlers on the deck, do it. I had a mower that kept eating belts. The idlers all felt fine with no belt on. But found 1 would lock up under a load.

Putting a Ford 555 hoe on a Massey Ferguson backhoe??

Hopefully the purchase price of both are less than the scrap value. Sorry to be harsh, but that is reality on these old machines. I don’t think your gonna find that this is an easy swap. The TLB’s from the bigger OEM’s were integrated machines and not add on attachments. You are gonna be doing...
