    The last Barn. (maybe)

I'm thinking of getting my barn project "foamed". Did they scrape it to match the thickness of the 2x6's? What'd they charge 'ya?

    Sharpening "down" angle?

I've always angled my file "down" the 10 degrees called for in the specs. I got a new 4.5mm Oregon file for my Dewalt battery saw. I actually read the directions  yesterday and noticed it stated to run the file LEVEL @ 0 degrees. Which is correct, and what difference does it make?

    Any ammo experts?

I (well my rifles) never liked any Hornady loads. I always had my best accuracy from Federal (even their American Eagle) loads. Can't explain it, others say they LOVE Hornady's. YMMV. Try the loads that you can find, keep the one that works best.

    Scary, life threatening, mistake

I almost sent my trailer into the back of my truck, loading an Allis. I hadn't secured the hitch well and it flipped up from the extra weight. I don't like the "flip up" ramps, I was worried about them being the correct height, every time. My Sure-Trac has great ramps. I added weld on...

Is anyone here familiar with scaffolding?

The towable lift I rent, is $270/day and a 35 minute drive, each way. For the inside work, I rented a small scissor lift, $300/day, 45 min drive (different place). Both worth it, IMHO.

Is anyone here familiar with scaffolding?

I have some scaffolds (Bil-Jak) but the upper pieces are very hard to assemble without extra help. As noted before, rent a boom/man lift. The drive to the rental place may seem far, but most also offer delivery. Kinda pricey. Self propelled are real nice, but may not be needed, depends on...

    Good morning!!!!

Good Morning. 55 this morning, with a hint of fall. Rented the lift yesterday and was able to finish the roof "repair" job. Most of the pulling out nails on the "good" side pounded down into good wood well. Still some soft areas of that wall and top plates to fix underneath, but I can do...

    Good morning!!!!

Good morning! Storms overnight, kept the dog (so me too) awake. 3" and still raining. Crops need it though... Hopefully it dries later today so I can finish the roof repair tomorrow (another lift rental day). May trim some trees too, if things go better than planned. Murphy's law applies...

    Good morning!!!!

I had the towable lift for two days. Boy those are nice. My plan was to slide the "new" panels under the edges of the old corregated ones, and that proved to be very difficult. They kept getting hung up on the underlying perlins and cedar shingles. I'll need to rent it again to finish the...

    Good morning!!!!

I was told the building isn't worth fixing, but I can't just leave it alone. It's a converted corn crib, with a fairly decent concrete floor. I've been working on this roof/building for a few weeks. It's been blown off for 20 years, apparently. The other side is intact, but alot of the nails...

Husqvarna LGT 24K54 - mower deck belt jumping off. AGAIN

Husqvarna LGT 24K54 - mower deck belt jumping off. AGAIN

My SIL was having the same issue with his Husky. New belt didn't help. I finally got talked into looking at it (didn't take too much), and I figured out that he had it routed wrong. The routing is really goofy and once I had it wrangled around everything correctly, it was fine.

There is a key to energize the system and allow it to crank, right? Bypass that first. Then, check/clean all connections. Simple, reliable machines. Go ahead an convert it, add electronic ignition too if you want. I did both to my 9n and never had an issue.
