Foods you ate growing up that most folks don't eat today

I'm guessing this was long enough ago that canned dog food was still made from wild mustangs and you could get a case for like 2 bucks or 20 cents a can individually. So ... either she liked organic horse meat or she liked the price. Canned meat for humans isn't much different, only has more...

You'd need the "Clockwork Orange" set-up to keep them from turning away ... then some defense attorney would sue the US based on cruel and unusual punishment & taxpayers would be on the hook for the PTSD claim.

I need some input on roll around tool boxes

I've got a few of the US Generals. (56 bottom/3 of the 5 drawer carts (one as a top box together with a 26" top)/an old-style single bank top & bottom) Replaced the fixed wheels with casters on initial assembly so I didn't have to deal with the back & forth to move it where I wanted. Agree...

I wouldn't even think of that until I had her stable on the ground over her length. Is the butt still attached to the root ball? if not, can you trim the top & one side then roll it onto that side with the winch? At least she should drop some to where you could walk out without being too high...

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

How high up is the trunk where it crosses onto your property? I might try getting on top there (ladder or FEL) with a chain & limber & walking up towards tip as far as I could while it still felt stable. At least you're cutting "in the way branches" that aren't holding it up & you'll get a...

Had some tony lamas elephant skin I wore for close to 30 years. Shafts never gave me an issue & the uppers were (almost) indestructible ... resoled them 5 or 6 times/reheeled probably twice that. Finally, the elephant uppers split across the top of my toes right where the shift pedal on my...

Looking for the right Rake Grapple

    Sourcing a Starter for 2016 xr4150

    Artemis launch

I watched it from my back porch. Kind of neat having Cape Kennedy 40 miles south, I usually get a pretty good view of the 1st stage flightpath (especially at night) & the whole southern horizon glows orange from the flames out of the engine. The Rumble is pretty impressive without being...

Best panhandler I ever ran into was in San Francisco. He'd approach you and politely but flamboyantly ask for a contribution to the United Negro Pizza Fund ... because a pepperoni is a terrible thing to waste. Burst out laughing first time he hit me up with that & gave him the price of a slice.

Between the advent of emissions controls and better mileage requirements after the oil embargos, US cars went to hell quickly after about '72. It wasn't so much that the Japanese made "better" cars at the time, it was that they were 1) cheaper, 2) offered better relative performance due to...

treated 2x6 wood deck cleaning agents, then sealant recommendations

I've used the two part systems on boat decks. Basically it's wet things down, apply the oxalic acid & work it gently against the grain with a soft(ish) nylon brush keeping the area you're cleaning wetted out, or the acid can cause uneven bleaching. Let the chemical do the work & float out the...

treated 2x6 wood deck cleaning agents, then sealant recommendations

Oxalic acid to clean/bleach. Will eat out weaker wood, so brush against the grain, or you can wind up with valleys in the grain. Also be careful with the PW for the same reasons. Thompsons waterseal clear. Linseed will darken over time -- especially with UV exposure.

Thanks. Bit of an update ... seems the original starter was underpowered as the specs went from 1.7 kw to 2.0 kw to 2.2 kw. So ... yeah, superceded numbers. Also ... appears this is a supply chain issue as well, as there is a back-order on the new part number at NH & limited availability...

Tell us something we don’t know.

Originally the Deloreans had a 130hp Renault or Peugeot motor. 0 to 60 in 9-10 seconds and top speed of only about 105. Thus the poor sales. Repowers might have been done, but the cut corners on the electrical systems and gauges, so ... kind of like a pretty girlfriend that won't (or doesn't...

Tell us something we don’t know.

Delorean did. Either the stainless or the flux capacitor made it too expensive to sell in quantities big enough to make a profit, so he wound up cutting corners in other areas (like the engine) to get to a price point people would pay, but even that wasn't enough to make it an attractive buy...

How high a rpm do you usually run at? Carbon build up in the exhaust tends to come from incomplete burn. Low rpm could be keeping the turbo from spinning up, resulting in too little air for the fuel being injected. How often was regen kicking in? Try running at higher rpms (2k+), even if you...
