    Your last generator Maintenance Run

In response to how often should a PTO gen be operated to maintain residual magnetism I don’t know. Mine has set several years between uses with no problems. I have never had an issue with portables either. My nephew’s standby gen had to be flashed a couple years ago after running flawlessly...

I have the same unit. Bought it prior to Y2K from Generac. Funny story as to why I’m bought it and all my other generators. When Y2K was being hyped up my wife said if I can’t curl my hair I’m not going to work! My reply was ohhh you’re going to work. That’s how it all started. True story...

I’m looking for advice on cleaning & preparing old concrete for GHOSTSHIELD 4500 concrete densifier. Garage is used for auto repair so oils & other fluids have been spilled on floor. I would also like to seal it with GHOSTSHIELD 8500 sealer at some point to protect from road salts. Floor is...

Pulled The Trigger On A ZD1211

I agree very nice machine. I bought my zd1211 2 years ago & have 160 hours on it. The only problem I had was a coolant leak that was hard to find. Ended up being the lower radiator hose. The controls are tight (no slop) for precise control. I mow 4 acres & no regrets!! 90cummins

New concrete floor coating advice needed.

Holly molly that's some bad settling, is the building sitting in a swamp? It was like that 30 years ago when we purchased it. Area is not wetlands so I have no idea why. After we removed all the old concrete we could see no reason for the concrete to heave. The fill was clean sand nothing...

New concrete floor coating advice needed.

Thanks for that info M59. The floor was replaced because the original was cracked & not level side to side. There was a 5 inch elevation difference across the width of the doors. We ordered a new 17’ door which required the floor to be level. This is only used for parking in the winter so I’m...

I just removed the old concrete floor and apron in the house garage and I’m putting in a new floor approx 6” thick. I would like to coat/treat the new concrete to protect it from road salts & freezing & thawing. What would you suggest? I’ve looked on line at many products but would like some...

    Your last generator Maintenance Run

What failed on the engine? Is there a common failure mode? My BIL brought up a Generac 22+- kw engine for me to check out. It blew oil all over the interior of the cabinet but was still running. Would like me to check it out & rebuild as a spare if feasible. I recall reading somewhere that...

I have 3 Yanmar’s The L100 drives a 450 amp 28 volt dc alternator that supports my off grid battery backup. The L90 drives my pressure washer and the L70 is a portable ac gen set. All 3 are very loud not so much exahust but the typical direct injection diesel combustion noise. In my...

    New 2019 ZD1211 loosing coolant?

I finally found the coolant leak. The leak finally left a telltale sign that I could see with the mower up on a lift after a couple days. The radiator hose above the oil filter had buildup on it that could only be seen from below. Relieved to know where it was going. 90cummins

    High temp grease in gearbox?
