I have the 5225 version. maybe different engine 5cyl. little over 1000hrs. only problem is that it shuts off random but if i react fast enough, i push the clutch and turn key off on real quick. does not happen often.

I would like a new floor for my one car garage. but,,,i worry about using jack hammers and the foundation of the house(an over 100year old house with block foundation). Are there issues doing this?

did not measure old oil , maybe will next year

manual says 11qts includes filter. this amount overfills on the dipstick. what have other owners discovered? this includes 5325, 5425, 5525 and so on.

what problems are you having with it. just asking, a farmer friend has a caps system and was complaining about hard to start. I suggested he use the ether injector button carefully while starting. fixed that for him.

get a little hand held gizmo that checks voltage. auto parts store should help you. main thing is you want to check volts at the battery terminals. tell them you want one to check 12 and 6 volt batteries. nice ones have ohms and can check house voltage also. if not charging over 6 volts, then...

why don`t you wait until temps warm up to the 60`s and higher to see if it smokes at start up and then make a decision if it smokes or not.

I had a 4310 once. hydo with power reverser. steering wheel adj is a flimsey joke. make sure it moves easy up and down. rest of tractor never gave trouble. actually a very nice tractor. i upgraded to a 3720.

my 5225 came with two manuals an operators manual and a maintenance manual.

I got to the jd parts website finally. The seat breakdown pic shows the adj lever on the left slide rail. this tractor has the adj lever on the right side. so figure that out. anyway i figured out the way to attach the spring and works great occording to the owner.

can someone post a pic of the spring adjustment attaching points and maybe a pic off the jd website showing this area. off a google search, any website i visit sends me to join and sign in to the john deere website which i rather not have to do.

also are you using the correct size tube. but really you should find the problem taking tube out and dunking tire with rim in water.

take the tube out leave tire on rim. fill tire up and take home and put it in that dog pool and find the bubbles coming out somewhere around the tire or rim.

I have same tractor but not those problems yet. just wondering if you can tell when it dies, is there fuel in the filter?

my x500 would just up and die and backfire after awhile of mowing. would restart on i would mow and then die again. May not be your problem if it is not randomly dying. It is sort of easy to replace this module. just google "john deere mower x500 keeps dying." so you might have a different problem.

have you thought about the electronic control module? I just done that to mine early this month.

5225 is a noisy thing but has been a good tractor.

jd 5225 no cab. has fel. first of all i dont see how the heck they get up there. i got a green poison block right there and they crap all around it. this is in a drive thru smaller shed with bait bars all around. also store firewood in there. no other food source. cant lock cats there. i havent...

this is an international 254 tractor. 3cyl diesel mitsu engine. hard to start every time even just half hour turned off. the owner says he bleeds the fuel system and eventually starts and runs perfect. where is this tractor losing the prime? If you want, i can put this in the case IH forum, but...

so how does it come off? i can turn it in clockwise direction maybe half inch. is that enough? then how much effort do i have to apply to pull it down and off.

what are you all using for winter fuel for below zero temps?

this tractor is open station and i assume it is ehydro but i sure can`t tell by reading the manual. this tractor has one toggle switch on the right fender which is the cruise control. It works part time. so what is wrong? yesterday would not work at all.

fuse is blowing, no lights of any kind...is there a common ground for all lights that i can check and where is it, or do i have to check each light. it is the 30amp fuse that keeps blowing.

I have a 32o5 and a 4310. the loader was on the 4310 and went to put the loader on the 32o5 and the female hyd receivers are a different size. what a bummer that was/is...what is jd thinking?????my question is...what is the best way to handle this, get a new set of female recievers for the 3205...

it is hard to steer. it is brand new. maybe needs to be limbered up...the manual says there are grease zerks on the tie rods, but i don`t see any grease zerks. are the zerks covered up with a cap or something????

I can always find something wrong with everything. it is a fault of mine..but,,,on my 4310, there is no 5mph speed at the rated pto speed. i find this as a very bad judgement on the part of john deere. it jumps from 4.6mph to over 6mph. such a dissapointment. it makes for either slow mowing or...
