    NH Workmaster 40

I have a 2021 Boomer 50 and I haven't had a single problem with it. I run it like I would a Bobcat at 2000+ RPM usually more. It regens about every 25 to 30 hours. I've used it a lot for road maintenance, clearing snow with blade and blower and for building site prep and field mowing. I am...

    Kubota regened again today

I have a New Holland/LS with an HST. I run it like you would any other hydraulic equipment like a bobcat or a mini. Set the RPM above 2000 and run it unless you need more for PTO.

How much ballast do I need?

The ballast recommendations you have been getting are spot on. One thing I would caution any new owner when doing loader work: keep the bucket low at all times. It's important even with an empty bucket as a raised bucket significantly changes the center of gravity, but you can tip over before...

Should a new tractor come with a full tank of gas?

The New Holland came with 2/3s tank of fuel loaded rears, a 3rd function kit at cost and second owner's manual and two caps. I can't imagine a tractor being delivered basically empty. The used Ford 1715 I bought 5 years in a private sale came with a full to the rim with fuel. That actually...

    Mid mount grader blade ??

I have one and the depth of cut is adjustable, I think mine will cut about 1 to 1-1/2 inches which is pretty aggressive. I have mine adjusted to cut 1/2 inch deeper on the right. Up one side, turn around and do the other side; it helps keep the crown in the road.

Ever bent a SSQA lever? I can't figure out how I did it!

Being mildly absent minded, I painted the handles on mine "don't forget-um dummy" orange. It can be pretty easy to miss an errant black handle against a field of black. Now they are like a flag waving, "you forgot something dummy."

If there are aliens, what will they look like?

Imagine taking a new silver dollar and flipping it in the air and it landing on a concrete driveway and landing on heads. Then imagine doing that 500 more times and it landing on heads every time. Now if you don't believe that is possible, how likely will it be that long chain amino acids will...

    Cost of pallet forks

I did also. They are the bargain forks, but I'm on a budget and for what I do with forks, they will do fine. I actually like the hole in the end of the forks. When it becomes time to shuffle trailers, a 2" ball in one and a 2-5/8s in the other.

And there'd probably be some fool pull out to pass

I had a friend, Rick, who had a similar thing happen to him but it was on a dry road on a nice sunny day. He had just gotten on northbound on I-5 near Albany Oregon and the wind shifted and blew a thick cloud of smoke across the highway from a grass seed growers field that the grower was...

We had solar in Sedro Woolley about 100 miles north but because the house was angled NW-SE it took a 56 panels. Not to mention the vandals pulling them apart to get any recyclables out of them. When the ICEs are gone they wont be able to steal catalytic convertors any more, and the EV batteries are too heavy so the metals in the charging stations will be a good source. Cab door broken-suggestions

Why did they switch to an all glass door over a steel framed door with several glass panels. My preference would be a steel frame with a horizontal steel bar and an upper and lower glass panels. Steel could be minimized and the glass maximized and it could possibly be fixed at a reasonable...

I looked and all I can find is one for a rather large bucket. Tractor Baler Accident

My personal rules for PTO implements. Don't get off the tractor with the PTO engaged. Those times when you need to check a strange sound, stay 3 feet away from any moving part. No loose clothing at any time. If it's too hot, take it off and hang it on a fence post, not draped off the seat...

Can I just pour cement in ballast box and add water.

I had one I lined with a heavy duty garbage bag and filled with sand and gravel. If I ever accidently dumped it over I wouldn't lose anything. If I was going to work with something a little heavier than normal, I filled it with water. It's surprising how much water will go into a box full of...

Who actually makes the tractor and whose engine and transmission does it carry?

In a global economy the only real questions are: does it have a reputation for reliability; is the dealer reputable: are parts readily available and will the likely be so in the future; does the dealers shop have a good rep? Most tractors, even those who claim American origin outsource parts...

    High tensile fence crimp sleeves

The high tensile wire I use is so stiff that once it's bent around a post or an insulator the crimp sleeves don't have much strain on them at all and 2 aluminum sleeves is more than sufficient. With splicing in the middle of a run, 3 sleeves and I've had no failures even with a herd of elk...

Plate tamper for compacting 300m of driveway?

If it's on a hill that is steep enough to involve switchbacks compaction isn't as much concern as erosion. If the road is well crowned and has good ditching on both sides would be my main concerns.

    UFO's... What do you think?

Gravitational fields bend space. It was proven in the 1920s during an eclipse when a star that was actually hidden by the sun was observed beside the sun. The gravitational field of the sun bent the light of the star around the edge of the sun making it visible. It's weird stuff, but has been...

    UFO's... What do you think?

Actually the speed of light is a constant. An observer would only notice color shift. If I were shining a flashlight at you while travelling toward you at 10 mph under the speed of light you would measure the speed of light at the constant speed, I would observe the light leaving the flashlight...

I would consider renting a dump truck to do the half mile run. Contact a local dump truck/gravel company and see how much to rent a solo truck and driver by the hour. B2601hsd for small horse farm?

It will lift 770 pounds at 19 inches but you will want additional ballast on the three point to handle round bales. If you store your winter's supply like we do, you can put the heavier bales on the bottom. I think it would be a good compromise with the caveat that you get a substantial...

    B2601hsd for small horse farm?

For safety the larger tractor is your best choice. Nothing would be worse unloading your truck or trailer, backing up with a bale on the loader and having it the tractor flop on it's side because of too much weight and not enough ballast. The L series with a 3 point finish mower might be the...
