    Who Makes a Trouble-Free 60" Diesel Zero-Turn?

Scag and ferris are about the best in the zero turn market. Ex-mark are durable but ride rough. Scag cheetah imo is one of the best followed by ferris. I work for one of the big 3 engine suppliers for lawn so I get to field test everything out there. As far as diesel goes, Total waste of...

Why no starters in Sprint cars?

Complexity. Adding a starter completely changes the car. I mean completely. Ewsca used to have starter clutch cars. Super winged modified. They were big and heavy. #1 issue is there's no space to put a battery on these cars. Much less add a clutch and change the rear suspension. Here's...

    Loading issues on Dump Trailer

I have a 8x14 14k that I pull with a f150. I've only once had to much tail weight. But it was a goofy load of wet dirt. It's really hard to load it with to much tail weight. However your wd hitch isn't tight enough if it can't LEVEL out your truck with 1400 lbs. I've had over 20k in my trailer...

    Freezer alarms that are good?

Anybody have a freezer alarm that they can actually recommend. I have one on the upstairs freezer but the alarm on it is useless. We just lost the freezer in the basement so I want an alarm that is loud enough to hear and or wifi. Everything on Amazon ~$30 I really don't trust but I can't...

    How agriculture works thread

Silage and chaff vs corn feed. When I had carpal tunnel surgery I had to keep occupied so I played farm sim and never really understood silage. Being wisconsin and having pretty big dairy farms around me some have silage bunkers and other don't. What does fermented silage do for cow food vs...

    Plowing tall grass

Burn it. It's wide open so no real hazard. All you need is a fire break. If all I had was a plow, I'd section it off in a couple squares with 10 foot plowed edges for a fire break to keep it under control.

Would you give up a tractor for a skid steer (CTL)?

I'm meaning jd 110tlb or g-k-m size kubota for the size of tractor.
  12. E

Would you give up a tractor for a skid steer (CTL)?

You bring up an interesting part I didn't specify size of tractor. With a scut and cut you are definitely correct with ctl/ss being tougher, depending on what type of ss. I was meaning a true industrial loader/backhoe in 8-10k lb or 40+ hp range
  13. E

Would you give up a tractor for a skid steer (CTL)?

Not a chance for giving up a tractor for ss or ctl. Overall cost to maintain is insane on a ctl and ss. Bumpy ride and traction sucks. Only thing I see as a plus towards ss/ctl is maneuverability. Almost any attachment for a ss will go on a loader although remote hyd and maneuverability is more...

    trail clearing technique and tools

That's why I'm asking, the one I have is 26lbs total and I use a shoulder harness but it's still an arm workout swinging this beast around for a couple hours. Moving the weight to the back would make it a little easier.

    trail clearing technique and tools

Anybody use a backpack style brush cutter. My straight shaft looks like it locked up so looking at getting something else. Biggest use is for cutting thick nasty vegetation. I like the option for a pole saw with the backpack one. I like the fact that the backpack one has 52cc as i have a 45cc...

Hsv6 3rd function divert valve review

Here's my review of the $120 3rd function divert valve. Being that it's the only thing remotely reasonable in price, the next valve up is at least $400. There's 2 different valves that you need to figure out which one you want when ordering. 1 has -10 orb the other has British pipe. Read the...

    trail clearing technique and tools

My dad had one of those 4 wheeled weedwackers prob 17 years ago and it had a head that used strips of strings like that and it was a pita to change them. Granted good quality string has come a long way in durability but the memory is still there.
  22. E

    trail clearing technique and tools

I've seen them but always figured they were a total pita the have to re string all the time instead of a bump head. Are they worth it time wise. It's already annoying winding a spool of 105 every 20 min of cutting

    Binders and chain

I always use chain in the rear and straps In the front with maybe an extra chain in front if its a heavy tractor. Chain in the rear keeps it from moving in and accident. Straps in the front cinchs it tight and has a little give it moves a little. I never cared for chain binders, the snap style...

    trail clearing technique and tools

I was lucky I had steel toes and thick pants on when the steel knives came off. I had one slice thru my pants and catch on my boot. They are way to chinsy and dangerous to be any good.
  25. E

    trail clearing technique and tools

Wouldn't waste the time. The knives bent when they hit hard stuff. You'd be way ahead getting the plastic knives gator head from the home improvement store. They work and last way better.
  26. E

    trail clearing technique and tools

ArlyA Don't waste the money. The rivets break and send the knives flying. I had 2 that disintegrated cutting under 1" brush. When one gets knocked off it goes out of balance and all the rest go within a minute or 2. Depending on what your doing a 12" saw blade works wonders for samplings, sucks...

Perkins AD4.203 CAV injection pump leak, DIY or DNT? (DO NOT TOUCH)

I've taken them apart. Not hard. Best advice, take it off the engine. Way easier to do cleanly and not loose parts. To keep timing make a scratch line on pump and front cover. Gear timing you don't have to worry about it has a pin. The black lift pump part you want to take apart in the vise/pan...

Can someone tell me size if this hydraulic connector please

    The oring is a orb fitting oring boss. If its a 7/8 thread it's -10 or 5/8 pipe. If it's 3/4 thread it's --8 or 1/2"

Depending on where your shifter is depends on locations of dip stick. Floor shifter, you have one under the hood pass side right next to the firewall. Thats the shuttle level. There's another one under the floor mat right in front of the seat post. That's the main Transmission level. Hytran in...

massey ferguson 54 50A serial number

I think the only thing that really changed on the 50a that's serial dependant is the power steering pump has 2 versions, Chrome vs iron cylinder liners, and direct vs indirect injectors/head.

I would go gn. I have a 7x14 4 foot sides 14k bumper. I've had it at 14k plenty and we'll over that once. With weight distributing hitch its not horrible when at full gross but my f150 is rated right at 14k gross trailer. Sway isn't bad except uneven country roads gets sketchy at 60. My...
