    Garden tractor life span

1968 New Holland S14 mowed until the deck just fell apart in the 90's. Now it tills and plows. Countless hours on it. Have a 1970 S14 as well, runs like a champ. My 2001 kubota zd21 zero turn has close to 2000 hours on it. If something breaks, I fix it.

My father has fallen and can't get up

Progress is slow, but still getting there. Today was a particularly hard day. Door trim done, shower stall done, still need caulked around hte base and the side wall finished. Washer/dryer/stationary tube done. Just a bit of trimmings and a bit on the roof is all that remains. Plus the switch...

    Coleman UT400 UTV?

9 years is a good amount of time. It's not a large property and I don't think the 400 would be a limiting factor for what i'm asking of it. I see a lot of mixed reviews, but there are a lot of stupid people who don't know how to use things. So it's hard to tell.

    Coleman UT400 UTV?

TSC has it on sale for $7000, with 48mo 0% financing, or $147/mo. I've been looking to get one and this thing seems like it has all the options. The only thing I don't see would be a plow would be nice for snow. Other primary uses would be hauling chicken feed, fire wood, moving the small...

Power steering conversion on my kubota B8200

Really the only way you are going to slow the steering down is increase the bore, a 1.5x or 2x bore would slow it down a bit, but i'm not seeing any of those with the swivel eye built in.

Power steering conversion on my kubota B8200

Lower stroke will just limit your turning radius. Also it may not be the correct overall length, or you'll be able to turn to tight one direction, and not enough in the other direction.

    Fatjay picks up chicks!

Struck out at 2 TSC's. called ahead to a 3rd and they have the motherload, but wasn't able to get there before they closed. I'll head over tomorrow. My plan is to do rolling 4 years, 12 chickens a year, and retire them after 4 years. That way I'll have 48 total at any given time. I'll expand my...

    New garage time!

Not yet. Lots going on. Finishing the basement, put in a new laundry room, going to move my office down there to make room for the new nursery. So all basement storage needs to go on the second floor of the garage.

    New garage time!

Working on a makeshift elevator using my scissor lift. I parked it in the back and was using it to go up and down, but getting anything sizable into the lift was a pain. Steps up to a platform, and the wall will fold down for loading. Then up, and the wall will fold down to make a platform to...

    Detach 48x28 Garage - Footings

Holy mother of god I hope you fire whoever did your block work. Out of a cannon. Into the sun. He should have to register as block offender and not be permitted within 1000' of a free standing cinderblock, like perverts aren't permitted near schools. This is how your blockwork should look like.

    Should I build a greenhouse?

I can move mountains. If what I plan is wrong for what my intent is, please correct it, and I will make proper adjustments. What I know is limited, but what I can do is unlimited. Tell me what you would do if you were planning a 10x20 greenhouse.

    Should I build a greenhouse?

I was going to get a HF carport then wrap it in 5mil clear plastic sheeting, then frame a doorway and windows out. Then basically do raised beds inside. It's 10' wide so I was thinking 3' on each side with a 4' in the middle. I have a south facing back area, but if it gets to hot in the summer...

    Should I build a greenhouse?

Greenhouses are houses that people grow things in that get hot in the cold. That's all I know about them. So here's what I have. I want to grow food year round. Lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cilantro, garlic, carrot, etc. Can I use a green house year round? I would be dedicating part of my garden...

My father has fallen and can't get up

My father passing really took the wind out of my sails. Nothing moving fast. Vanity in, hooked up, functional. Washer/dryer in, plumbed. Vanity light in and on. Sink is a bit crooked on the vanity and didn't notice it until after I caulked it. So I have to re-do that. Need to find a stationary...

24-26 eggs a day from 26 chickens. Selling 10 dozen a week covering feed costs. Plenty of fresh eggs for ourselves. I think I'm gonna get another dozen chicks, they're in season, demand is high. I hate to have to turn people away but it's getting to that point.

This morning my father called me at 8:30 to ask me to bring him a mirror so he could see his numbers. Then he called me at 8:45 to ask when I was coming in. Then at 9 to ask me to come in now. Starlink

Wow, fiber around here is starting at 500mbps up and down, most of them are exclusively gbit. And it costs about $80/mo. If it's that different, then I completely understand, I never heard of fiber being that slow though.

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

I've been wanting to pick one up for critters, my concern about defense is the lack of velocity. Studies say that the primary difference between a rifle and a pistol is nothing more than velocity, and it's why getting hit by a rifle is so much worse than getting hit by a pistol. The FBI has...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

I don't shoot 5.7 for recreation or hunting, I shoot it for personal defense, because 9mm can't do the things that 5.7 can. If I'm defending my life, using lethal force, I want that force to be as lethal as possible, and I want to have as much capacity as possible. So 23 rounds of 5.7 fits the...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

Fiocchi makes both the American Eagle 5.7 as well as the FN SS series 5.7 in america. However, the specs are different, the American Eagle is glue'd, where the FN is crimped. This results in the bullet falling out of the casing in the American Eagle, causing jams, misfires, etc. So not all 5.7...

My father has fallen and can't get up

Here's the interesting part. My parents live the next street over from me and my wife. It's 30 second drive. I could run across the street, through the guys yard, and be in their back yard. 12 to 18 month wait for new vehicle!!

Shockingly, not necessarily. I went to look at an f250 which originally cost 80k, it was 3 years old, and it was listed for 68k. It seems that cars less than 5 years old are holding their value a great deal more.

Do I really need a tractor on 1.5 acres?

I have about 2 acres. I have 8 tractors. I hoe and plow and dig and mow and till and trench and hoe again and a bit more digging. I like to buy older machines because they're cheap and simpler to work on, and if they break I'm not using them to make my living, so I can gradually learn to fix...
