    Buying Advice on Hydraulic links

I think you could do this yourself and probably save some money. I just installed a HTT on my NH Boomer 45 and I think the entire job took 15 minutes. I made a brief video showing it and where I got it. GL !

But when you need metric you need metric ! My tractor has nothing but metric hardware, maybe yours too. However, the point is if anyone needs metric I have more than I will ever need and willing to share.

Nuts and Bolts for Sale. NE Indiana

I just went online to their site and entered in the specs for the same bolts. Unless I goofed up (which is very possible) I got a price of $7.43/5. (I picked Japanese since they did not have Italian). The price for the nuts was very low, about $6.00/50. So the cost for a single nut and bolt...

Hey there and TU for that benchmark. Around here we are stuck with the lowe's, home depot etc stores.....have not seen or heard of any co-op places. In any event I was able to edit the original post and changed it to 40 cents for a nut & bolt. I would think these could be used anyplace anyone...

Surplus to my needs are hundreds of never used M8 x 30mm, Bright yellow corrosion plated 8.8 Grade Hex bolts with Hex nuts. These may be some kind of Chromate plating which is much better than zinc. They are stamped with "3F" which I was told represents the foundry they were made in which is...

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

Appreciate the input. After the 1st several replies it became VERY clear that a bottle of pressurized air was not what I needed. What I wanted was to be able to refill a 1-pound (empty) propane tank with air and be able to get as much gas vapor out of it as an original cylinder. The key is that...

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

So here is an update......the Scotts, 3-gallon battery powered sprayer with it's own little dolly is garbage and is being returned. The small pump operates off of a small integrated internal 9 V battery. When I filled the tank with water to try it out the pressure was piss-poor and barely shot...

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

Neat. Reminds me of a system I made up about 20 years ago when I had a traditional garden tractor with steering wheel. I pulled a small garden utility trailer behind it and put a 55-gallon drum inside it up towards the front to keep the weight forward. I then dropped a garden hose down the drum...

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

This looks awesome........excellent idea. Even though I have a Scotts unit on the way I am going to get this just to play with (rem I like to experiment) I just need a regulator so it can stay on and not over charge the 2-3 gallon container to more than about 15 PSI. Thanks !

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

It was a thought experiment. I like tinkering and DIY & repurposing things that's all. I was just on a fact finding mission wanting to get opinions, facts, and even learn something along the way. I'm smart enough to know I am ignorant in many areas which was the reason for my post. Thanks !

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

The answer to your question is because my property is a little over 1200' long and hundreds wide.....if I only filled it with one gallon (which I have tried) I would be spending tons of time walking back and forth to refill it. With my back issues I am not able to make the many required trips...

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

At this point it does not matter as I have ordered a dolly type battery powered unit......but, the original idea was to use a pressurized air cylinder with valve and regulator, attach a hose to it, run the hose into the top of a plastic sprayer container (well above the liquid level) and have a...

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

As I read all these new posts I have not yet seen (for some reason I stopped getting notifications & I thought the thread had died) lots of thoughtful & helpful suggestions etc. I know it is easy to miss one or two when many posts are made. I cannot use my tractor or even Z-turn to hold a...

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

I need to sincerely apologize....for some reason I stopped getting notifications when new posts were made by folks. Not mean't intentionally guys. Can a propane tank be repurposed?

Roger that ! I have filled several 1-pound tanks using a 20# tank several times......exactly as you say, just make sure it is inverted so you fill it with liquid. Never had any problems but since I do not have any gauges on the setup I was at a loss at what the internal PSI was. TU agn.

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

Appreciate that guidance. But I think we are talking about two different propane tanks. I am wanting to learn more about the small 1-pound propane torch tanks. Also, the 10-15 PSI is the intended pressure inside my sprayer bottle. I would imagine the air-filled propane tank would be filled to...

Looking for front blade to plate attach ideas/designs

Looking for front blade to plate attach ideas/designs

Hi Ken. The 3-point is just fine. What got AFU was the attachment of the blade to the end of that 3-point. I have plans for the 3-point itself since it is very HD and in fine shape. The other issue is I would like springs to allow the blade to tilt forward in the event the blade catches...

Looking for front blade to plate attach ideas/designs

Yes you are right, I found a YT video of my blade. It turns out it is an old MF Model-16, 3-point rear blade. Built like a tank ! I mean I bought it used 25 years ago and I worked it super hard. It held up very well until one day while cruising too fast and with the rear blade a little too low...

Thanks for the advice. Means a lot coming from a veteran welder. I know a lot of folks are able to find these wonderful deals on old 4x4 blades w/mounts but I have not been able to score one around here. Seems prices are way,way higher, for even junk which is why I wanted to try to use what I have.

Hello group. I recently purchased a 3/8" skid-steer quick attach plate for my NH-45 Boomer FEL and would like to fabricate a HD mount to allow me to attach a nice ole 7' rear blade to it. The 7' rear blade mounting was damaged beyond repair but I was able to save the blade itself nicely. My...

    What is this part?

Along with a lot of recognizable nuts, bolts, etc I found a handful of these items. Any idea what they are called and how they are used? The weird thing (to me) is that the side that says 5/16" bolt is smooth bored while the side marked stretch 5/8" Drill has internal threads.

Need Help ID this Nut & Bolt

Howdy group. I came across a very large number of these new nuts & bolts but am not familiar with the stamping on the head. I suspect they are metric as the bolt measures exactly 3 cm in length and a standard 5/16-18 coarse will almost thread on but does not. I read it as 3F on one side then 8.8...

New tractor, first few upgrades installed!

I made incremental changes to my NH Boomer and ended up with 78-LED light bars, one in the front and one in the rear. The video does not pick up the light beam as well as the eye and I found this combo lets me do just about anything I need to safely at night.

I am positive thousands of guys have made something to this but I have never seen one or plans to make one or even where to purchase something like this so I made my own. Hooks on Bucket

I would suggest welding hooks onto a solid steel plate then bolt the plate to the loader. That way if you ever needed to you could remove them very easily. I welded 3 hooks onto some scrap 3/8" steel plate that already had some holes in it and bolted it in place with 4 Grade-5 bolts I already...

    Are 78 LED's Better than 9 ?

Been experimenting with different LED lights to replace the stock halogen lights on my New Holland Boomer-40. Beware of possible issues when installing some LED lights on your tractor

Tantalum caps are very common because of their dielectric (they provide a lot of capacitance for their small size) but they tend not to hold up well in hostile environments. We tended not to use them in military hardware because they had a high failure rate vs. time. Your idea of chip caps are...

Beware of possible issues when installing some LED lights on your tractor

I wanted to provide a quick update on the LED RFI issue. As you may recall I ordered a commercial AC powerline filter since it was quickly available and not very expensive (about $12 delivered). I knew it would not be my 1st choice but I figured what the heck, let's try it for fun. I made some...

Beware of possible issues when installing some LED lights on your tractor

So in between chores I went down into the bat cave to do some more experimenting. The first thing I wanted to do was try out an idea posted by Mr Fuddy1952. I swept frequencies from near DC up to 200 MHz and it made zero difference whether the diode was in circuit or not. I used a 1N4007 along...
