800 hr hydro service and that F’in aluminum filter got me….. Was not cross threaded, went in about 1/4 of the way and about 3 threads just snapped off. Best I can figure there was a price of debris in the threads.

    Hours charged for tractor work

That’s the biggest aggravation with the “chucks in a truck”. Not only do they make it hard for all legitimate contractors to bid/win jobs, they’re not really making any money on top of it.

    Hours charged for tractor work

Ok? I’ve done it both ways. When starting out I did hourly $80 per. Once I legitimized and had a lot more overhead, that became unsustainable. Minimum is now $300. That 20 minute job would have grossed $80 before, now grosses at least $300. There is no legitimate contractor that bids hourly...

    Hours charged for tractor work

If your business is legitimate (or not). You’re leaving money on the table bidding hourly.

    Coolant leak

Thanks for the info! About a week ago did have a small puddle (maybe a cup) of antifreeze on the ground and a low level in the reservoir. Never overheated, at least by the temp gauge.

    Coolant leak

Ok diesel gurus, seeing a bit of steam and residue at the bottom of the thermostat housing, guessing the thermostat went bad, stuck shut and blew the gasket. Not seeing any reason I should see steam coming from there? (That’s the question) I’m competent with gas motors, not as much with...

    Ford Superduty 6.2 questions?

I have an 2018 F250 super cab long bed with the 6.2. Bought it last year, @31k miles, now at 38k miles. Happy so far.

The Volkswagen Routan was just a rebadged Chrysler. (Had one) The small Mercedes is a Metris, (Vito or Vclass in the rest of the world). Not a Chryco, full on Mercedes. We have one now.

    Favorite Subcompact Color? 😁

As one of the commercial users of a SCUT, the machine itself is a huge (pun intended) part of my businesses success. I can go all the places the bigger machines can’t. That along with the extremely low ground impact is huge. And it does all the tasks I need on our 6 acre farmette.

    Favorite Subcompact Color? 😁

Red. And oh boy with the SCUT naysayers… Mine has made a healthy profit for the last 5 years. Paying for itself over and over on the commercial side, and doing everything I need at home. Those that call them out absolutely have zero idea about which they speak, but the constant...

Kioti cs2610 vs Kubota bx23s vs Massey gc1725M

Have 1300 hrs or so between a 2014 GC2720 and a 2019 GC1723, both TLB, both used commercially as well as at home on our 6 acre property. No issues.

I’m lazy so I just drilled a hole in the bottom gusset on my TSC blade to pin the tow behind spreader to.

    5inch minus spreadability?

With a good base and normal potholes, you have to break up the edges of the holes prior to filling them in. From your description, it sounds like you have a good candidate to strip back your material and lay some fabric, as your stone is continually mixing with the subsoil. The road fabric...

2018 GC1710 Price Check vs. Buying New

    I sold my 2014 gc1710 for $13.5k, in 2019 with 580 hrs or so and a crunched hood. That’s a good price.
  22. M

What's your general experience with the Massey subcompacts, and would you recommend them?

    I have 1300 hours between a 2014 GC1710 and a 2019 GC1723, both TLB, both used commercially, zero issues.

Backhoe Vs. 12000 LB Mini EX

I can chime in a bit… I do what your looking to do, but with a SCUT class TLB and a bunch of 3 point attachments. All dirt/stone/ground work. I don’t plant anything. I’m in PA, no CDL needed under 26001, DOT numbers required higher then 17001. 2018 F250, 15k tilt deck, 10k dump trailer...

    5inch minus spreadability?

Did what I think you mean to do for a customer last year. Large “belly” and then steeper rise to the road. His corvette scrapped coming and going. I used just enough 3” to take most of the belly out, about 6” at the deepest part. Then went over it with 4” of 3/4 minus. Worked well, no complaint...

    My take on driveway gates

When I say road, it’s a private one lane road, properly marked as such and signed with multiple, legal no trespassing signs. The table and chairs was about 150 yards from any public road (where our garbage and trash goes for pick up). Landscaped around with kids toys around it. So yes I expect...

Why no Ecoboost in the F250?

Been a Volvo guy for a long time, have two FoMoCo era Volvos now, 07’ V59 and an 09’ S80, no real issues with either, but the FoMoCo stamped parts make me sick….lol. About 130k miles each.

No, past a private road sign, past 3 no trespassing signs, table had kids toys on it.

    Being safe

Oh boy….. The semi auto pistol on my hip, has a purpose. That purpose is to get to the shotgun mounted in the house. That shotgun has a purpose as well, that’s to get to the rifles (scary black ones) in the safe. At work, the pistol on my hip is to get to the rifle in the car….if I’m away...
