    Desperately need to fix driveway

All the above are good guidance. I use a skid, mini x, and 70 horse tractor with a pile of implements on my half mile drive, and I still have challenging spots. I could have saved some money and effort if I had done it this way. 1. Grade, road must be higher than surrounding area, either ditch...

Ghost in the tractor... (Engine suddenly quits with motion)

Maybe stuff floating in the fuel tank? when the fuel is at the correct level and sloshing a bit, blocks pick up. Quick check is to add fuel and see if problem changes, but, filling it up and having to drain is a drag. Water can do the same thing when it gets 'deep enough'. Consider cleaning...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

My challenge was always getting the bad guys to stand 9 feet away, and 6 feet apart and hold still:) A couple of buddies have told me the drills are tougher when the targets shoot back. All that said, drills are fun and makes it easy to see improvement. Hopefully none of us will ever have to...

    TODAY'S GUN TIME

I am a relatively new member, and have enjoyed TBN and this thread a ton, thanks everyone for sharing. These are crazy times, all the mass shootings and violence I believe there are a ton of very sincere, good people that would like to get rid of guns, or reduce magazine capacity. That might be...

Saplings and brush around pond banks. Suggestions?

Good idea's here (none as good as mine). Just kidding, but, I will put in one more plug for you to consider: Woody 'stuff' is a pain, but, if you mow it a couple of times a year, you can forget about it in a couple of years. The roots don't store enough energy to make an unlimited number of...

    PTO safety shields

I hate to admit to being old and not woke. They get lost at my place. Now that said; noone else uses the gear, and should you read about me being eaten by a PTO, I was aware of the risk. Like you, I am very respectful of a shredder, and don't get off the tractor with the PTO on. Best, ed

    TC-25D Won't Crank - I Need Some Help Please

Disclaimer: Make sure tractor is not in gear, loader is hard on the ground, and key is off. Put power to the key side of the starter solenoid. Starter should spin and bendix engage (even with a weak battery you should at least get a good click out of the solenoid unless the battery is dead)...

Saplings and brush around pond banks. Suggestions?

Saplings and brush around pond banks. Suggestions?

Good question, I am researching them for a ditch mower, only used shredders. There is a post here, something like let's talk flail mowers that has a ton of stuff. The link is a fairly light duty unit, and I think they say it can stand three inch stuff. From seeing the road side guys mow, they...

Saplings and brush around pond banks. Suggestions?

Depending on how step the banks are, seems it would be a great spot for an offset flail. I can't speak directly to the quality of this particular unit, but have a look and see what you think. They are less expensive than I thought when I started looking. 48-in 3-Point Offset Flail Ditch Bank...

    Talk me into buying

Question for the ages! I have always bought used where I could, cheaper, simpler, and more what I was used to as a kid. Why am I destroying tail wheel forks?????

Good question, make a chain the length of the top link (including a clevis at each end). Replace top link with chain. Attaching the shredder will be the same as with a fixed top link. The chain will raise the shredder when you lift the 3 point, but, not put any down pressure on the tail wheel...

How far would you drive a tractor?

Always respect others opinions, and certainly if you don't drive the tractor there is a 100% chance nothing bad would happen. I have driven well over 50 miles many times, the four lanes where people can pass were always the least of the challenge. On the two lanes, once we stacked up 5 cars, we...

First tractor - wet ground... ?

Glad you got better, and happy you found a tractor. If it turns out to be less than ideal, maybe grab a good excavator for the first clean up, then sell it if you don't love it? I have tractor, skid and x, other than mowing, the others get used a ton more than the tractor. Best, ed

What hydraulic oil to use on Bobcat 463 Skidsteer..?

Yup, they are just viscosities I believe 32 is 10 46 is 20. I run more in the heat than the cold, so little thicker with 46. Leaks a little slower also:) Stay on the filters, if you use a lot of attachments, you can sometimes pick up cooties. They are good tough machines, have fun with it, and...
