I'm in shock... Kubota BX pricing

Obviously I don't know how these things work. YANDER is above not below. One more comment. I didn't buy another SCAGS because the dealer wouldn't budge from his insane asking price. The Ferris dealer did. I can't wait to try the Ferris 24hp Yanmar Diesel.

I'm in shock... Kubota BX pricing

YANDER (the fellow below) has the right idea. Get yourself a good ZTR and put the cutter deck away. I've got a BX23S and never did purchase the deck for it. That was because I had a SCAGS ZTR and didn't need it. I cut about 5 to 9 acres on my land. Last year my Scags is starting to get old...

Tire puncturing form orange osage trees

I bought the GATOR UTV used and the tires were already filled. They are as hard as a rock, but never going flat. I can see where whatever he put into tires was coming out of the valve stem too. I wonder what it was. The ride is very hard on the Gator, but no flats ever.

Tire puncturing form orange osage trees

My Gator has filled tires. I just drove close to those trees. You should see how many thorns I found stuck in the rubber. Can't get flats with these tires. I just can't believe how these thorns are tracking. They are like magnets to rubber.

Tire puncturing form orange osage trees

I am assuming that the picture is something other than an Orange Osage tree. Don't think that I would try to climb Big Bubba.

Tire puncturing form orange osage trees

One additional comment. I checked out my R-4 tires on my BX23S. They are 4-ply So, maybe other R-4 tires have more walls to them, but mine don't. I think someone said 6 or 8 ply. Must be some industrial tire and the comment didn't see that mine was a BX23S tractor.

Tire puncturing form orange osage trees

Thanks to all who have commented. I never thought that I would get this much help. Thanks for the comments on the R-4 tires especially. If you are right, I won't have any problems. If you are wrong it sounds like using a tire sealent will take care of the problem Good experience comments on...

Tire puncturing form orange osage trees

Appreciate all the comments. I think I'm going to go with the cutting down (one way or the other) and renting a track Steer to clear. I'm probably going to use a dedicated area to leave the brush pile. Kind of a "No Travel Zone". Scags has turf tires yes it does. Kubota R-4 and yes those...

Tire puncturing form orange osage trees

I have a number of Orange Osage Trees that are blocking the sun from my garden. I want to take them down and clear them out. I have a Kubota BX23S with Grapple that I could use after I chain sawed them down. But, I'm afraid of running over the thorns and puncturing the tires for leaks. I've...

    BXpanded ??????????

Apology accepted BXpanded makes several accessories for Kubota. I wanted to know if others had problems or warn them of a up coming problem. For all those things to go bad at the same time, still leaves me a little suspious of them. Since, they are back up on line and seamingly doing business...

    Price for a new BX23S

Absolutely right about disconnecting on a day when it's cooler and reconnecting when it's warmer. The slightest of pressure in the line is like connecting two rocks together. I never tried the part about connecting the implement hoses together when no hooked up. I'll have to try that...

How does one remove tree rows of hedge apple

I moved out here about 30 years ago. Went to auctions and leveled the land with old tractors, disc, etc... then proceeded to plant 2000 trees every year for about 10 years. I mixed them up and thank god only the Ash took the hit. So now I have more fire food then I'll ever be able to use...

How does one remove tree rows of hedge apple

I have other projects to work on too, like 250 Dead Ash Trees (thank you ask bore). I really would like to buy a steer, but can't justify it. So rental looks like the way. Years ago I rented Steer with Back Hoe to plant. Seems ironic that now I will be renting to tear down

How does one remove tree rows of hedge apple

Thought that I'd add what we are talking about here. First one is the start, second one is the line up (about 50 of these trees and third is couple of the thickest. I planted around 25 to 30 years ago. guessing they are maybe 20 to 30 feet tall but thin at the top.

How does one remove tree rows of hedge apple

And now I have another thought. Depending on how I get them down, there will be many thorns on the ground. My scags tires have already proven that the thorns will penetrate the rubber. So I'm thinking about bringing in dirt and covering the area with it. Then planting wild flowers in that...

How does one remove tree rows of hedge apple

Good watching on how to do it. My question to you is, "What about all of those thorns laying all over the place. Do you plan an putting grass down there? Aren't you afraid of the thorns puncturing your grass cutter tires" Maybe you have tracks on your cutter too????

    Price for a new BX23S

Mine have the Flat surface couplers on them not the pointed ones. I found that at times I have to loosen the connector with wrenches to relieve that stored up pressure. Don't like disconnecting but it works. I'll have to look up your pliers. I know about the hammer.

    Price for a new BX23S

Price is OK. To much but that is what they are asking. Quick Hitch is an absolute. I have bought several front end attachments and love the way they quickly go on and off. Make sure you get a third valve. Plow or grapple is usless without the third valve. In addition, be ready to fit with...

tree sheer a trackloader ---- Yes, this would be what I would be looking for. I'll be able to get a head start looking, now for Spring. I don't know if anyone rents, but it would be perfect. I've seen other buckets that dig under the roots and the steer lifts them out of the ground. That...

How does one remove tree rows of hedge apple

Some pretty good idea's. Some a little far fetched. I am sold on the track device and no tires. Great advise about NO KNEELING DOWN. Those thorns will really tear you up. I'm not so concerned about the tree stumps. I just want to remove the upper area that is blocking the sun from hitting...
