Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

Does that price include labor? Each dealer I called was between $3 and $4 per gallon for material, then 1-2 hours of labor at their standard rate. I was only charged for 10 gallons per tire, but luckily actually received over 30 gal per tire as you can see from this thread. Their labor rate...

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

Did some heavy loader work this past week and definitely felt that the tires were filled. All but confirmed it after bleeding the valve stems, but good to know nonetheless. In summary - dealer thought they only filled each tire with 10 gallons, but turns out they actually overfilled them...

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

I’ll post what Kioti says once they get back to me. The tires were filled to 32 and 24 psi for the rears and fronts respectively when I originally picked the tractor up, so I assume that is what the dealer filled them to or they just left them at whatever they came with from the factory? The...

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

I agree with this… all of the evidence suggests they over filled the tires regardless of how many gallons they believe they used. My plan is to bleed the tires until air starts coming out at 11/12 o’clock so the tires are about 75% filled. So the Kioti recommended tire pressure for R14 tires...

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

Yes I had that thought as well, so I called the original selling dealer and they swore they did not fill the tires with anything. I did not get any sense of windshield washer fluid in what I bled from the valve stems via smell or consistency, so I’m inclined to believe them.

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

So I finally had a chance today to bleed the valve stems and the results were unexpected - while jacked up with the valve stem at 12 o’clock it bled RimGuard continuously, zero air. I bled about 2.5 gallons before stopping (started making a mess as I wasn‘t prepared for it to bleed that much)...

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

Good question, it’ll be one of the first things I ask the service manager tomorrow. It’s been raining here for two days so I haven’t had a chance to bleed the valve stems in an attempt to measure the fluid level… but should be able to test it tomorrow.

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

He claims he did have it a 12 o’clock. He did admit it was his first time filling tires, so I would not be surprised if he did something wrong or did not read the machine correctly. However the tractor doesn’t feel like it has 600+ lbs worth of ballast. He did have the calculator and admitted...

Rim Guard ballast fill issue - dealer filled 10 gal vs 30 gal expected

I recently brought my new tractor to a local Rim Guard dealer to have the rear tires filled. The tires are Goodyear R14s, size 15-19.5, and should accept about 29 gallons each according to Rim Guard’s online calculator and the dealers reference sheet. I was extremely disappointed at pickut...

    GC1725M Rear Remote Project

@DL Meisen - Thanks, I reviewed that thread a few times before posting... it's got some great information. The 1725 appears to be different than the 1715 in that the FEL loader valve body is located under the right fender and the P, T, and PB lines coming from the FEL are each hard-lines. I'm...

    GC1725M Rear Remote Project

I'm planning to add a rear remote valve body to my GC1725M this spring, primarily for the purpose of adding a hydraulic top link. I've done a fair amount of research between this forum, the service manual, talking to a local dealer, and etc. and believe I mostly have a handle on what I need to...

    Rear wheel spacers

I’d also recommend Bro-tek spacers… I have the 2” aluminum ones, immediately noticed better side stability on hills. I would have considered 3” spacers, but at the time I was using the MMM. I’m in the woods all the time with the tractor and at times navigating through narrow spaces between...

    GC1723eb / 1725mb reliability and parts cost?

I’ve had my 1725M for just over a year, just hit 110 hrs. Overall I’m happy, have got a ton done with it. Only issue has been some leak down on the loader cylinders, especially the bucket tilt circuit. With a full load of dirt the bucket cylinders will leak down several mm over a few minutes...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Thank you @07keo02 - this thread has been very helpful in my pursuit to add rear remotes to my GC1725. The GC1725 is somewhat different than your tractor as the FEL valve assembly is different and located under the right fender – but the theory should basically be the same. My objective is not...
