My machine is 15 years old with about 1000 hours and doesn't seem to have any issues at this joint. Some grease has run down on that blue sleeve material and I just leave it to lube that area. I also try not to fully articulate and pinch the joint if I can avoid it.

I am happy to report a WIN! I sent the steering cylindar back to PT. A week later it is back and installed. I just put the cylindar back on and then the hoses back on. Slowly brought the tractor up to speed. No priming of cylindar was required. Slowly started turning the tractor little by little...

I had a similar issue on my 1460. Felt like bogging down when going up hill/needing power. Ended up being dirty fuel filter and the second time dirty filter and bad fuel pump. Couldn't get power when needed cause it was intermittently starving for fuel. Easy place to start is fuel filter/lines.

First cylindar issue for me. What has been a slow drip has developed into a stream of oil. Coming from inside--the joint between the rod and the outer housing. Looks like I will have to take it off and send it to PT for repair. I know PT makes there own cylindars so I don't trust a local place...

Have Ryobi tools and just got the battery operated grease gun. Did maintenence on the 1460 and what a joy it was! All lubed in no time at all. Was kinda fun actually. If you don't have this tool, I highly recommend getting one. Was easy to reach all the zerk fittings. Will lube more frequently...

Well I did it to myself. Forgot to air up this tire (which has a slow leak) and went out to clear some brush for the burn pile. Tire popped off the rim bead due to no pressure. I am wondering if I can get the rim/tire off the tractor by just removing the 6 outer bolts or if I need to get that...

Hmm, I use the same process as Ponytug on my 1460 for my 4 in 1 bucket? If not, I have residual line pressure and I cannot get the fittings to connect. Seems to help to have the bucket really flat and level when dropping/connecting.

Just a suggestion on the poles for the ground contact. The pole barn building companies have built up laminated posts that I think are the real deal on the ground contact preservative.. You might find some through them?

I have had some success boring out a center hole and then adding some charcoal briquets into the hole. The charcoal kept the center burning and the wood burned itself out from the center. Once cleaned out I suggest you look into the expanding foam method of setting the new posts. The expanding...
