Replacing Halogen headlights (built-in, ROPS mounted) with LEDs? (JD 4600)

Unfortunately the bulbs do not work. My lights in my ROPS are halogens.

Replacing Halogen headlights (built-in, ROPS mounted) with LEDs? (JD 4600)

Ok. I plan to do the same. Having the extra light in the winter will be a big win - that it won’t drag down the battery if I leave them on without the engine running.

Replacing Halogen headlights (built-in, ROPS mounted) with LEDs? (JD 4600)

You. I read your message that you didn’t change the headlights.. rather, only the ROPS-mounted lights.

Replacing Halogen headlights (built-in, ROPS mounted) with LEDs? (JD 4600)

Update: I ordered the bulbs and will put them into the ROPS lights that I have. Question - why didn’t you put them also in the headlights on the tractor?

Stuff you find while mowing tall vegetation

I've been lucky... not too much in my pasture areas when cutting. But I did do some work at a neighbor's area in grass that was at least 3-4' tall... I found all kinds of things with my FEL. Dead Trees, Dead animals, a barrel, etc... and she SWORE there was nothing in there. :cautious:;)

I'm happy with the process that was used - plugging first and now with the tube. All is working well and I've also enjoyed reading the posts/follow-ups here. Good knowledge for sure! Thanks!

Any JD 4700 HST mechanics in here ?

It’s good to hear that JD stepped in. You went through a lot with this whole deal and the fact that the dealership took it hard on the nose, also says a lot about them. I’d be doing a nice reference for them for sure!

    JD4600 3-Pt Lowering Speed Question

Question - I saw on here were someone was having issues with their 3-pt arms not raising (or raising too slowly). Mine seems to raise fine, but is slow lowering (even with weight on it). Is this normal? Thanks! -Bob

    Front Tire Puncture Question

Yes, I do. It was fine. My fronts are R1's... They match the specs that were on the JD 4600 for the first 20 years that I've had it. Unsure. They did indicate that the plug was still intact. I've had not issues with the tubing of the tire since and I have loaded about 35 round bales and...

    Front Tire Puncture Question

Some time ago I managed to puncture my front tire (through the tread, so it could be repaired with a plug). Last week I had a situation where I was losing air in the tire and couldn't figure out why. The tire dealer told me there was a pinhole in it and they needed to tube it. I had that done...

Any JD 4700 HST mechanics in here ?

When I had my issue, it was with the linkage below the pedal that caused the problem as the wear/tear over 20 years caused it to not return the pedals to their normal positions. I could get acceleration if I reached down and pulled the pedal up myself, but otherwise it required repairs to all...

Any JD 4700 HST mechanics in here ?

I had to take mine to the JD dealership as well…. Fortunately - much like when the roller in the Transmission went out (shift roller had to be replaced), I had it down at the dealership ready for them to look at it. They fixed it for me and we went from there. While I do my normal...

Any JD 4700 HST mechanics in here ?

I’ve had the same issue with my 23-year old JD4600 HST. In fact, the external grommet linkage on the pedal broke. Once that was all fixed, then everything was back to normal. I will say though, that this -60 Windchill and snow did manage to make my front loader cylinders make some noise for a...

    Front Tire Replacement - JD4600

UPDATE After staying clear of the situation for a year, I returned to it and tracked down a set of Carlisle’s through Amazon that are a perfect match. I got them just in time, too, as the snows and cold in Minnesota set in and the traction has been a great help. Merry Christmas, everyone! -Bob

The next guy that claims "green (or orange) paint doubles the price"

I view the whole concept of Green costs more as a prejudiced opinion. Yes, I can buy cheaper…. But having parts available, repair facilities, and other items for as long as I have my tractor (never mind the 3rd party aftermarket or the wonderful folks on this forum), the extra money is worth...

Success with Front Tire Replacements on JD 4600

After 22 years and over 3000 hours, I finally replaced the front tires on my JD4600 tractor.
