Thanks for this great post. I’ve been thinking about converting my oldest 1430 to electric for some time, especially now that the engine has given out. Your post gets the juices flowing again. Have to research where to get parts reasonable.

I’ve kind of wondered why power trac isn’t working on one.

Anyone had to repair their light materials bucket. I know it will involve welding but wondering best way to reinforce the area.

Your 1430 is behaving normally. The one I bought 2012 has behaved that way in the cold since I got it. The older one I had was more responsive. It had a different pump with bigger orifices so cold oil could flow through easier. Sometimes I put a portable jump box on the battery and use a squirt...

Depends on what you’ll be using it for. The 2430 is a better loader on level ground but not as versatile( even though all the attachments fit)as the 1430. The 1430 will do all the stuff your 425 does only it’s bigger.

Fun to watch peoples faces the first time they see you do that and they think something bad is about to happen.

A couple of times. Those brake pins have been frozen for years. The last time I went for a ride I was brush hogging up a steep hill in the woods. Took off down the hill backwards. Luckily i was able to miss all the trees. The thing that surprised me was the small hose from the pump to the draft...

Don’t forget, if you blow a hose on the PT while on that hill you’ll take that same ride. Ask me how I know.

My butt doesn’t like 30deg on any tractor. Lol. The point I was making is the 1430 is more stable on hills than the 2430. I have both.

If your land is that hilly your not going to feel stable with the 2430. It’s really a flat land machine. Unless you need the extra loader height, consider the 1430.

The 2430 is kind of under powered for hills. Same engine as the 1430 and weighs about 1000lbs more. I like mine for loader work and light digging with back hoe. For just about everything else the 1430 is better.

Are they building any new 1430’s. Last time I talked to Terry they were out of diesels and the engineers hadn’t come up with a solution for mounting the gas engines.

I’m curious what you used for a parking break.

Especially an 18,000 lb winch.

Ugly but it’ll split just about anything up to 32”.
