    It seems there is more of a danger burning out the ECU/ECM when there is electrical disruption. Either jump starting, starting with a bad battery, or charging issues seem to risk the electrical components.

    I'm seeing more and more problems with valve cores leaking. Spit on them to see if they are leaking. Also, bend the stem to the side to see if they are rotting/cracking.

    I have burned log piles by stacking them so the pile gets air at the bottom. Two logs one way, then 4 the other way, then 4 the other way, and so on. Air can get in at the bottom and burn hot in the middle. Once the pile collapses, then lay more logs on the side in a teepee shape.

    Agree...the Speeco with the 10.5 hp Briggs I have is now 17 years old. I run it out of fuel going into winter, always use E0 fuel, change the oil every couple years....starts with 1-3 pulls. Other than a squirrel chewing a hole in the fuel tank, it has been flawless.

    To fully empty out the old oil/moisture/crud from the gear case, you will have to tip the box toward the fill/check hole. A baster or sucker will not get down past the bottom bearing to reach the crud. If the box has no vertical shaft (no lower bearing), then a sucker tube works fine.

    I looked at the kit online and I'm wondering if it is like the set-up on my Toolcat. Once it gets cold enough, a valve opens to route the warm fuel returning from the pump (return line) into the fuel filter housing to warm it. There would not be a heat element or switch involved.

    For only a couple holes once in a while, I would do them by hand or a one man auger. With gravel, it will be a job with an auger though. Hooking up a 3pt auger can also be a chore if you are alone and don't have a hanger or stand to hold it in position.

    Some stations near here do blend fuel and this winter they ended up at a 80/20 ratio. As I don't use much fuel in the Fall, I just wish they would offer the blend earlier for people preparing for winter. Older equipment probably had less problems with gelling than newer equipment with finer fuel...

    I have learned to test a sample in the freezer and keep a 5 gallon jug of #1 fuel to blend if I need to. The neighbor has bulk tanks that I can get blended fuel during the winter too. If I could only buy 70/30 blend in October I would be set. (y)

    Only look at the wagon's front wheels and where you want the wagon to go. Yes, using a hitch on the front is easier because adjustments are quicker. A modern tractor with hydro and power steering is almost cheating.

    I traded the TC33D in on the Toolcat but I owned it for 19 years. I always used the glow plugs year round and only double cycled them a couple times during super cold weather. I would also plug in the block heater when it was cold. I always thought it started very good all the time I owned it.

    I'm not a fan of using the bucket to plow snow. If it is very flat pavement it will do very little scarring. If the pavement is not flat, a corner of the bucket may try to dig in as it does not float to stay level. To help, using the float position on the FEL will help.

    With the Ford, you can ramp it slowly up to speed. Does your Deere have an electric PTO clutch? Do you drop the RPMs down before engaging the PTO? Does the blower rotate easily by hand (tractor off) ?

    About half price with only 90 hrs isn't bad. The deck rollers, seat, paint, look good. If it was stored inside out of the sun, the tires will last a long time. How is the battery?     I doubt the OP's little tractor has the room for some giant truck alternator. The deere upgrade was also done with the x700 series tractors. I think there had to be a change with some other electrical components as well when doing the upgrade. 2305 Alternator Conversion...
