    Ring gear failure

That means you have either worn out your starter gear or your temporary fix isnt working any more. I did a ring gear in a 34yr old, 19hp kubota..it was $220 in parts.

Snow chains for plowing with a rear blade

Homemade log splitter. Anybody made one?

I have built one before with alot of scavenged parts but at this price I wouldnt bother any more. 22ton is $999. Anything that needs more than 22ton is going on the burn pile not the wood shed. Plenty of wood here to pick from.

    Rugged Trailers

Op that's a sharp looking trailer. I weighted my 6.5x12 with no wood deck at 1,100lbs. It's a landscape style trailer though. I also bought a new 20' equipment trailer in 2022 for $5300 out the door.

Fueling skid steer for light residential guy

275gal heating oil tank with a hand crank transfer pump. Also just a home owner. Filled the tank at $1.28gal in 3/2020 and it's still 1/2 full. No algee or water in it. I do have a goldenrod filter on it. The whole setup cost under $120.

    Solar powered cabin. (thumbs up)

$400 isnt really the difference in BT vs non. It's more like $20-25 per battery. I also have a offgrid cabin and no ones going to hike my golf cart batteries to the road.

Ceramic Tile vs Laminate Vinyl Flooring

Not totally correct. The finish most people use on hardwood floors is easy to damage. Because it's just a surface finish. I used tung oil on my red oak 13yrs ago. It still looks like I put it down yesterday. We have a gravel drive and 140lbs of dogs. It's because the finish isnt just a...

Snow chains for plowing with a rear blade

I have used these on limited clearance machines too. They are about 1/2 the price of the tallons. They grip really well in all seasons. There hardened links also. If I remember they where about 15-20% more than the cheap chinese 4 link ladder style chains. If I had to buy new chains again I...

Ceramic Tile vs Laminate Vinyl Flooring

When people say "Luxury vinyl plank"...its just plastic brother. Theres no reason to spend $3.50sqft on plastic flooring. I have $1.10sqft stuff in a cabin. Yes it's cheap and should be. No I dont expect it to last 40yrs like the $2.50sqft red oak I put in my house. Vinyl is cheap and...

I have a 12V system at a small cabin and would never build anything but a 48v system. Most of these cheaper lithium batteries dont have bluetooth so when something goes wrong your left guessing what cell has issues. Also most lithium you can only do 4S4P and for the OPs prety big loads prob...

    1920 Clutch replacement

    Loader bucket needs more curl

I had an old 1957 ford 851 that had a old loader with geometry just like the OPs. I just lifted the bucket more when transporting dirt. You can also lift the bucket and get some dirt to sit more at the back of the bucket, then lower it. Or you could extend the bottom of the bucket longer...

JD 110 tlb front pinion shaft bad

    Plumbing a log splitter, help

$400-600 on marketplace every month around here. I wouldnt bother with a 3pt splitter. This $400 unit just sits outside next to my woodshed. A few pulls on the recoil and I'm splitting wood. Nothing to hook up or unhook.

NH is it a Yeah or Neh?

That's true to a point but I believe at the HP and year the OP is looking at this will be a emissions machine and most of that work is dealer only. Love my 23yr old tc40. Everything is mechanical and no emissions or computers.

    Fuel Filter Problem

I would look into draining that tank and cleaning it out. I had a old ford 851 that would suck up a glob of solder from a previous owners repair every now and then. It would always stop the tractor at the worst times.

Increased Fuel Economy, Am I Crazy?

I find this to be quite opposite with My 2012 suburban. The 6.0l and 6speed seam to like 75-80mph quite a bit more than 55-65mph. I got 3mpg better between 75-80mph, calculated not via the dash.

Star Fire Premium Trans Hydraulic Oil

Hydraulic oil specs are set by the product manufacturer. Theres no 3rd party testing like with engine oil. So if your machine has any type of wet clutch, wet brake or hydro drive then use only what the manufacturer of the tractor sells with there name on it. It's not worth trying to save $40...

Hooking a large 3pt snow blower to a small tractor, PTO tumblebar?

I want a Hydraulic grapple for my L3130 with la513

You need to find out if your machine has a power beyond port. If it does it makes things like a 3rd function way cheaper. Then you just need a open center electric solenoid for a dual acting cylinder and the needed hoses. I believe this type of solenoid is about $350 last time I looked.
  46. N

Is boiled linseed oil a useful rust preventative for seasonal implements stored outdoors?

It hardly even does that just like thompsons water seal. Boiled linseed oil causes mold. Mold means water is getting to the wood and this causes rot or high maintenance of wood. For metal use woolwax or fluid film.

Whooptido! What a difference gage wheels make.

One trick I use to get around having a blade or take with no gauge wheels is to just angle the blade or rake. Solar + Batteries = refrigerator use????

It's to hard to say because your fridge cycles on/off. If you want a totally hands off system you need more battery and solar power. I have a mini fridge running off solar but only when I'm at a weekend cabin. 700w solar, 6 gc2 golf cart batteries.

Until you need a propylene rosebud and a 1in air line supplying a 1in gun to turn the nut on the pin the operator hasn't greased you havent lived. I did many of these jobs on loaders loading salt in the early 2000s. The torch was so loud you would need hearing protection to use it.

Used hydralic fluid and diesel for trailer deck?

Brushing is really best for any exterior wood application. It allows you to work the stain/oil into the cracks in the wood and fill them up. Cracks is also where water can sit and rot will be the first to start.
