So I found out what my problem was. The solenoids get their power from the same line that the 12 volt outlet is on. I unplugged it and the 12 volt plug putting a switch for lights. The solenoid plug was barely poking through the body so I didn't see it when I put things back together. So...

Same thing happened to mine. I can usually hear the solenoids with the key on, but not running the engine. Today, nothing. Needless to say, I'd sure like to find out too.

I went with not screwing it in. The wording in the manual made it sound like that was the way to go. Either way is ok,I'm sure. I did learn to wait 10 to 15 minutes after adding or draining before checking to give the fluid a chance to level out. That's from the manual too.

Like to thank everyone for the input. Sounds like I better plan on just moving gravel from places cars don't go to where they do.

Our turnaround is bare of gravel in some places. I'd like to bring old gravel to the top. I have a 35HP tractor, loaded tires and a landscape rake. One question is how deep do I eventually set the tines? And should I make a couple of passes shallower and then lower the rake, or just drop it down...

Is that the seat, brake and range selector interlocks? Or is it something more complicated? You're suppose to check this system every 50 hours.

I forgot to mention one thing. The keypad stays "active" for 40 seconds. That means if you push any single number on the pad, the gate reverses direction. I didn't read that until after I was testing it out and thought the darn thing was defective. Actually the operator was defective, i guess. :)

I got the pinpad for the mighty mule. It will hold up to 25? numbers. I key in the last four numbers of their phone number. You can also make any number invalid after 1 to 7 days. It can be wired or wireless. Very handy when you need to open the gate but forgot to bring the fob.

I went with Homestead and have no regrets. The rake has been very useful for me. Working on the driveway, road and getting the ground ready for grass. I even manged to hook it up today in under 5 minutes. A new best time!

I bypassed the switch today. I used 2 inches 18 or 20g(not sure which), solid wire. Pull the connector apart, strip both ends of the wire and plug into the connector coming from the tractor. Covered both halves of connector with some Coax Seal to keep moisture out and all is good.

Thanks. I do have guide wheels, but must not be using them correctly, or there's something else I need to adjust.

I want to use the landrake to remove rocks from the surface, but it likes to dig in and pull up soil too. Is it possible to just skim the surface? Or am I asking too much? Any advice on what to try to make it less aggressive?
