A lot of "plastic" fenders on tractors have a fiberglass or some other fiber component to them. Very rarely are they a plastic that could be welded back together. I was working for New holland when they introduced Plastic fuel tanks on their Genesis tractors and some of them were getting holes...

Line conditioners smooth out the THD but they can cost as much as the generator. See my post above. This is the best way to do it.

As a follow up, name brand doesn't buy you clean power automatically in a generator. The Northern tool Powerhorse generators are far cheaper, but meet the 5% THD requirement.

It doesn't have to be visible. It messes with the control circuit and transformer. What you are describing is typical of that kind of problem. That's why I went out on a limb and mentioned it. Generac, if you call them, should have an idea what THD that model puts out.

Unless it is a X series Generac unit, it is NOT clean...and likely the source of the damage. It can be immediate if it is dirty enough or cumulative if it is off the specs we provide, but not at 25% THD like some.

What generator was it? If it was over 5% THD, it could burn up the boards (not clean power). We do have a warning in the manuals and on the website about it. It could also not be enough power? I think you need about 9000 watts. When you shut down, was it always disconnected? Floating...

Usually, when this happens, it's an issue with not having serviced it lately. A lot of times you can open it up, remove the connectors, blow them out and replug them and things will start working again. We recommend that those units that are used frequently be cleaned out every 3 to 4 months...

If you want to "buy" one...Everlast has a new one coming out and has an existing one. The old one has a tilting table. The new one is adjustable height and is a pack and go type.

I bought mine just like it at Airgas. But that was years ago. Also I buy stuff from Amazon more and more, and a few things from Ebay much cheaper. Look for the Strong Hand alternative. It's generally about as well built and cheaper.

The mts 211si is one of our older models. It's good but basic. Yes it has dc tig with hf start. But it's not for aluminum. The 212 is a bit more up to date and welds equally as well. As for which I'd go for, for me it actually get the storm 215c. You get a pretty decent little plasma cutter...

Yes, but it's a lot more of a welder than the 200es. It's a better MIG overall, and it also has way more power. The 200es is just 180A @ 25% duty cycle. The 212 is 200A at 35% duty cycle and a max output of 230A. It's actually on sale now at 999.00 shipped.

70S3 is not worth welding with to begin with. It's a budget wire and has little to no deoxidizers. It welds badly unless the metal is 100% clean and mill scale and rust free. Recycle it, because if it has rust, it won't be worth tearing up your liner to try to weld with it.

The hatchet offers the best cut capacity and price. The 52i offers a bit more duty cycle ,60%, at max output vs. 35% of the hatchet. But at 50A, duty cycle is the same for both. The 60 is much simpler in operation.

No, that's about right for a transformer for 90A rating. And that is an "average" rating they give, not a max breaker rating for inrush. A transfomer capable of welding 140A at max output will trip a 30A breaker. Hobart's own data shows it's only a 9% duty cycle at 140A. That's less than 1...

Were you welding with .023" wire? It's hard to do. The Hobart 140 is really only about a 90A welder. The 140 is more theoretical. Duty cycle is usually around 20% @ 90A. With .023" wire, you are hard pressed to reach 90A.

There's a big difference in the Titanium and the Everlast. Starting with warranty. And ending with design and quality of internals.

There is a significant chance of fire with this table. Be careful. Personally, I'd have found inexpensive scrap iron rather than the expense of that large dimensional lumber to make the table out of. Not trying to rain on a parade, but I have seen wood welding tables catch fire.

All processes produce xray quality welds, including stick. It's no harder or easier than any other process. It takes skill and understanding of what is going on to do it with any process.

Any welding process should be able to weld what you listed. For stick, just use a small rod like 5/64 or 3/32. Use something like a 7014. Or for MIG, just use something like .030" wire. TIG can do it, but that's an investment a lot of people don't want to make.

Any weld from any of the processes, when done properly will hold and work as good as the other by and large. MIG is more than a "glue gun" Level of skill to master all these may not be 100% equal, but I can tell you stick takes as much practice as anything to master. TIG is easy by comparison...

We don't recommend storage that low. Minimum recommended temp is 14F. They are light enough to pick up and store elsewhere. Shouldn't be an issue with taking in due to its weight and size.

As long as it stays at 208 and doesn't drop below 205. Usually 208 in good areas reads 211V or so.

Inrush is right at 30A. I'd recommend a 40A since it is a tad over at maximum. But any good slow trip 30A would work. But that is betweeen you and your electrician and code official.

No. Just cutting. For serious gouging you need 80 amps or more and high duty cycle. Our stand alone units do it, but because they are higher duty cycle...and they still are for light gouging 60A and under. The 80 and 100A units would be best for this.
