What did you do with your Power Trac today?

I mounted a quick attach plate to the side of this hydraulic wood splitter (instead of 3 point attachment on the end). It’s great to be able to drive right up to where the wood I’d cut down.

    Power Trac Broom Attachment

I bought this 43” sweeper from an auction sale. I had to modify it a bit to be able to attache it to “Artie” my PT-425. I also offset the attachment point so that one side was more covered. This is great for clearing the wet slippery needles and leaves on our steep driveway. Also the...

    Power broom for snow removal?

Greetings, I'm thinking of getting a 48" wide power sweeper attachment for my Power Trac PT425 tractor. Anyone using a sweeper for snow removal? Where we live in Oregon, we don't get much snow but we do get moss growing on our driveway. Which would be the other main use for the sweeper. Cheers...

Anyone in Pacific NW purchasing from Power Trac?

Greetings, I'm thinking of purchasing the sweeper to work with my PT-425. I live on the Central Coast of Oregon and wondering if anyone out this way might soon be buying anything from Power-Trac. Maybe I could piggyback on the shipping? Then come pick up the sweeper from your delivery location...

PT425 PTO Switch Replacement - How to wire up replacement switch of different brand?

On a related note. The rubber switch cover on my 425’s Aux switch has ripped off. It doesn’t appear to be the same standard screw on type that they have at the local Napa store. Any ideas for a replacement?

    Changing my 425’s Hydraulic fluid.

Greetings, I’ve just reached 200 hours on “Artie” my PT 425. While I have changed the hydraulic fluid filter every 50 hours, I’ve not changed the fluid itself. It still looks pretty clear. Can I go with just another filter change, or should I really be changing out the fluid as well?

    PT-180 ELECTRIC CONVERSION COMPLETE

Great write up about your electric conversion. I’m wondering if the same electric motor that you used would work for my PT-425? Might be a little under-powered as the original gas engine is 25HP.

Looking for Sweeper for my PT-425

Greetings. If anyone in the Pacific Northwest has a power sweeper to sell to fit my 425, please let me know. Or if anyone is purchasing a tractor that I could piggyback on the shipping, please let me know. I am in Oregon. (Newport) Cheers & Thank You. Steve ”Artie”

I got an old pallet jack for free and welded it to a quick attach plate.

    PowerTrac Specific Modifications

I bought a front hoe with the Toro Dingo attach plate. All I needed to do to make it work with my PT425 was to cut a notch in the top and cut the two rectangle holes in the bottom for the locking mechanism.

    42” forks

This is my homemade forklift attachment I made for my 425. “Artie” from an old pallet jack and a quick attachment plate. Also makes a great portable workbench.

What did you do with your Power Trac today?

I am building a Gabion stone retaining wall. I needed a way to lift the fill rocks higher than Artie’s bucket could reach. I had made a forklift attachment from an old pallet jack so I used that as the basis for a high lift dumper made out of an old wheelbarrow some pulleys and a rope. It...

    PT-425 Cement Mixer capacity

I ended up cutting a wooden stick to length that when jammed under the lever would ”run” the cement mixer while I tended to the mixer.

You are correct in calling it the PTO circuit.

Splitting wood and lifting forks with my 425 “Artie

Yes, I am using the AUX hydraulic circuit. I had to have hoses long enough so that the splitter can work in either horizontal or vertical position. Running the engine at about 3/4 throttle is plenty to provide the needed “juice” for the splitter.

Splitting wood and lifting forks with my 425 “Artie

Thanks. I like that I can operate the splitter either horizontally or verticle. I’m 60 and it’s getting harder to lift some of the bigger rounds so it’s nice to be able to just roll them into place.

Splitting wood and lifting forks with my 425 “Artie

The higher capacity AUX circuit has larger connectors. None of the local supply shops carried the same make.

Splitting wood and lifting forks with my 425 “Artie

I now have a hydraulic wood splitter attached to my 425. It works awesomly with the auxiliary hydraulics. (After buying some very expensive quick connects from PowerTrac) I also made a handy forklift attachment out of an old pallet jack that I got free from the local fish plant.

    PT-422 Electric Conversion.......Done!

Wow! This is amazing. If the engine on my 425 ever burned out, I would love to do an EVersion. Though maybe I should just go ahead and do it as I‘m sure I could sell the engine to help cover some of the cost. Thanks for your post.

    PT-425 has arrived!

I really like your fitting coves. I have an ample supply of slightly used nitryl gloves. (From work) so they get repurposed as covers and then tossed when I switch out attachments.

Who's got a log splitter that they run off the PT?

This is the Black Diamond 3pt hitch log splitter that I “attached” to my 425. It works both horizontally and Vertically. I welded an attachment plate to the side of the splitter so it sits perpendicular to the tractor. This make it easier to move around. It works great running off the Aux...

Homemade box scraper. Push me or pull me?

The box scraper I built from scratch is 54" wide. I wanted something a little more than 48" but not as wide as 5 feet. It's not nearly as heavy as a commercial unit but that is an advantage pulling it with my 425. I attach it to my 425 using the 3point hitch that I welded to a spare quick...

Homemade box scraper. Push me or pull me?

Greetings, I am in the process of modifying the box scraper I built for my old mini dozer to attach to the hitch frame I made for my PT 425. I welded on a long 2 receiver tube. I intend to weld connector plates to pin on the sides for extra support and additional support up to the top link...

Mowing Mounting this pull behind flail mower out in front of my 425

Great information everyone. Thanks. It looks like I will need to do a bit of hunting and modification to end up with a from mounted flail mower I can afford. I did get a quote from Iowa Farm Equipment for this slick Italian (Peruzzo) flail mower with a hydraulic motor spec'd for my 425 for a...

Mowing  Mounting this pull behind flail mower out in front of my 425

Greetings. I've been thinking of a front mounted flail mower for my 425. Doesn't look like there are many options (unless I lived in Europe) I came across this ATV120 pull behind flail mower. Any suggestions as to how I might convert this to be front mounted? I have moderate welding skills...

    Propane conversion on my 425

Greetings. I am just loving my new 425. I'm thinking about the possible benefit of converting it to run on Propane. I converted my 3500 watt inverter gas generator to run on Propane and am very happy. I don't have to worry about gas going bad or gumming up sitting in the tank. The oil in the...

    Traction  Hydraulic wheel motor question

Well, I managed to get Artie (PT425) stuck the other day. I was dumping some dirt and there was a really soft spot under the left front wheel. When I went to back up, the left front wheel dug itself into a hole and the right rear wheel came off the ground. I couldn't go forward as i was at...

My New PT-425, "Artie" Arrived on Tuesday. It was a bit of an adventure as the delivery truck couldn't get closer than 6 miles from my home because of new road paving. (They said the 75' semi trailer was too heavy for fresh asphalt) Fortunately I was able to track down a forklift and my...

    PT-425 Cement Mixer capacity

Greetings, The delivery of my new PT-425 has been delayed because of the Huricane in Florida. (So many shipping trucks have been rerouted to deliver supplies to Florida and Texas.) But that has allowed me time to save up some more pennies for attachments so I have added the 4 cu ft cement...

2" back hitch receiver on PowerTrac 425

Greetings, In looking around the PowerTrac forum, is seems that numerous people have replaced the rear pin hitch with a 2" receiver. I'm thinking this might be my first mod when my new baby arrives. Have these hitches been custom made or is there some off the shelf item that just needs to be...
