Actually Yanmar had both frontend loaders made. The YFL was the standard loader and the YLD was a light duty loader. The materials were not as heavy duty, including the bucket and it had smaller diameter cylinders, and only one dump/retract cylinder mounted in the center of the bucket.

Yes, it is exactly like a clevis pin. But it has a short length of hardened rod welded to the end that extends over into the slot on the shift block. It was the rod that broke off.

You should be able to measure the diameter of the small rod that broke off and weld a 1 1/2" long piece of hard rod onto it. Then keep gradually making it shorter until if fits perfectly.

The spring pulls the handle down into the neutral position when you go there. If you lift the handle up and let go it should pull the shift handle all the way down. If not, replace the spring.

On the YM186D you can replace the four wheel drive shifter without splitting the tractor. In the picture that winston1 posted, you can see the large nut #3, unscrew it and the shift linkage all comes out except the block #10, which is on the shaft #8.

Just as a word of caution; Your old engine had a preset idle speed of 1175 RPM's. The new one is preset at 1400 RPM's. If your UTV has a centrifugal clutch like most UTV's and can start in gear it may take off immediately. So be sure to adjust the idle speed down to a maximum of 1175 RPM's.

The YM186 had the fill port there also, on top of the rockshaft. And that model had the dipstick on top of the left rear axle housing. Maybe yours is there also.
