    Replaced Fuel Tank

I considered converting this to electric as some have done. I concluded that the cost is just to crazy, so I thought I'd stay with gas and go through a few minor fixes. A few years back I gave this tractor to a business partner because he had a big piece of property and had more use for it...

    Replaced Fuel Tank

The original plastic fuel tank on my 2006 PT-425 began to leak around the bottom hose fitting. I replaced it with a new aluminum tank purchased from Powertrac. I also replaced the fuel line and fuel filter and added a shut off valve (something that I've wanted to do for years). Not sure if I...

    Electric Drive Motor Retrofit

I have begun the research to replace a Robin 25 HP gas engine in a PT-425 with an electric motor and battery system. I remember that this was discussed many years ago in this forum. Has anyone done this? I知 interested in this project for a few reasons. ... 1. Battery technology has improved...

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

These carvings are approx 9-inches square made with Mahogany. After the CNC carve, it takes about 20-minutes of hand sanding to clean up some of the details. I wet-sand them with tongue-oil and then wipe them clean. ... repeat once or twice and then buff on some furniture wax. Carl, We had a...

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

I've been carving college and NFL logos. I download the logo from the internet and then use the software to "trace" it and convert it into a tool path. It takes about an hour to get the tool path file ready and another hour or so to do the cutting on the machine. I typically engrave a Bible...

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

Here's another view. This is the first computer controlled machine that I've had in the shop. Much like running a printer or a plotter ... instead of applying ink, you are using a router bit to cut the wood.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

Here's an image of the CNC machine. I'll send a few more. It's basically a router mounted to a frame that moves in the X, Y, and Z axis. I use a cutting software called V-Carve. The software is specifically designed for the sign industry, using V-shaped pointed router bits.

    Pushing or towing a 425

Here's an image of my pump. (Not sure that I uploaded this correctly. This new and improved forum format is testing my capabilities). Does anyone know what to turn to be able to push or tow this tractor? Figured I'd call Terry in the morning if I can't get it worked out.

    Pushing or towing a 425

OK, I arrived home from a nice Father's day out and I noticed a gasoline smell in the garage. ... saw a few drops under the tractor ... thought that I'd simply pull it outside and deal with it. I could not start it and eventually the battery went dead ... tried to jump it from a mower ... no...

    Spring clean up

Took the day off from work yesterday to do a little spring clean up on the beach. We had a new permanent fence installed last fall and it acted just like a sand fence creating a dune on the leeward side. We cleared a walkway to the gate and now the gate is usable again. A good deal of sand...

    Movin Mulch

Now with warm weather, I finally had some good PT seat time. ... at least my business partner did! ... we moved 14 yards of mulch at his house. Limits on reverse speed

I know that I'm a little inexperienced, but every time I get on my PT I go too fast in reverse. I often get concerned that I'm going to back into the deck or into the house and not have time to catch my mistake before the damage occurs. I allowed my Kubota buddy on my PT for a test run and he...

    425 Big Wheels

I am delighted with the larger wheels and tires (from the 1430) on my 425. These tires keep me on top of even the softest sand. I was sitting here trying to imagine even larger wheels. ... so I did a little PhotoShop magic. ... check it out!

Ordered a new 425 last week

Thanks to all the contributors to this site. I ordered a new PT425 last week. Looking for delivery in a week or so. I'm having PT put on heavier wheel motors and tires from the 1430 (26X12-12's) in order to increase the soil bearing surface area and decrease the soil bearing pressure. I plan...
