    I was hunting for the location of the starter on this truck. It sounds like to swap it you have to pull the intake manifold. I’m a little unsure if that’s for the 4 cylinder and 5 cylinder engine or just the 5 cylinder.

    I always use Stabil in my small engines. I think it’s more important to use ethanol free gas for longer storage. If I keep the tanks full with Stabil treated ethanol free fuel I’ve never had a problem. My second choice is to run them dry.

    I’ve used Stabil for years and had good luck but I either run my small engines dry or keep the tank full. I suspects it’s keeping fuel fresh has as much to do with it more than the Stabil. 5 gallon cans can be a pain but the smaller quantities tend to keep your fuel fresh.

    I imagine if you spray your truck with something like Fluid Film you would be washing it off by power washing. I think your still ahead washing it though. I’ve also read keeping a vehicle in a heated garage makes it rust sooner if exposed to salt.

    I think what makes a MS261 good is its weight for its power. There are a lot of saws in its class that make just as much power but weigh more. 1 or 2 pounds isn’t a lot of weight but as you get older it makes a difference.

    911 is not designed for regular use, just if your fuel gels. I’m not a huge YouTube fan but Project Farm did a test on diesel fuel additives. For me it’s worth watching just to see how the fuel gels and looks like. Even with additives it gels but he stuck it in a freezer for the test.

    As far as storing wood outside I’m sure it’s better enclosed but I don’t burn a lot of wood, about 1 to 2 cords a year. I live in Western Illinois and we get humid days but I think there is enough dry sunny days and some low humidity days in the fall it dries pretty good.
