I have a small pump to drain jacuzzi and fill pasture water trought in winter. It empties a 55 gallon pail pretty quick. If hooked to a nozzle is sprays far, but backpressures the pump. Pump makes awful noise. Im not sure these pumps are meant to work thru nozzle slowing flow??? I amy be wrong

The usual manual transfer switch may only be used once a year, its when its used for exercising, it gets too much use. Most of my customers with portable generators never exercise them under load anyways…heck, its hard enough to convince them to even just run them a few times a year.

Try this. Hook op the led lamp socket and lamp, and at the same time, plug in your tester to the same wire nuts and set meter to ACVolts. See if the reading drops when the light turns on.

Those are generally maxed out at 100amps, you should test batteries at 50% of rated CCA. SO A 550 CCA battery should be tested at 225 amp draw for i believe its 10-15 seconds. Mine beeps when its done. My carbon pyle tester is also harbor freight, but its rated 500 amps. I dont see that...

Solid to stranded wire connections is not an issue. Ive done it for 30+ years. NEC has no issues with it. Plug in is always best though. When i wired houses i always placed a plug for D/W in the cabinet next to the unit. And ran cord thru hole with water line and drain.

Thats strange, i service over 300 air cooled generators and there either 1.1, 1.7, or 2.2 qts. But as long as it shows ok on dipstick your good to go.

running a gas powered generator without a load will not harm it. there are millions of standby whole house generators that exercise for 5-12 minutes every week with no load on them. running it loaded will help it run hotter and help to burn off any moisture in the oil though.

My portable has a kind of a muffler. More like a sound baffle. I know it hooks onto a pipe with a clamp. Not sure of the duromax. It does muffle the sould compared to if it wasnt there, but ill bet its more of a flame arrester by design.

On some older generators ive had in the past i was able to remove the large “muffler” they provide and simply install a flex pipe on the remaining stub and ran it thru a car muffler to deaden the noise. I did this for 15 years until i installed the whole house generator.

I honestly think your hooking up wires wrong. A basic light either has 1 wire and uses the mounting device for the ground, or has 2 wires, one being a ground and one being the hot. This fixture is just wired weird. A green wire with yellow stripe is universally considered a ground wire.

Weird, usually on bolts that dont come out, have a hole in it that allows the draining. Mine is that way. It wont come all the way out, because the air pressure would make it a missle.

Deleting the start/stop was the first thing i did. What a stupid thing.

Ive never been in a tractor with this feature. Always one with push brake, pull lever to lock brake pedal. I hate when they try to improve easy.

You got that right. All my other rigs have been diesels and one was 30 years old, the other 20 years old. My wifes rig is 2017 tundra, but she takes care of that thru toyota.

In my carriage barn, i just i stalled 2 jackshaft openers from liftmaster. Man, so much easier to install than traditional garage door openers.

Good call. When i redid my garage and finished the drywall, i just chose to replace both openers. The new chamberlain are way nicer and quiet than the older units. And the motion activated lights are great addition. Also, i can operate doors via my phone.

you HAVE to do a load test on a battery, not just check voltage. what is the voltage while drawing a heavy load.

i use Genmon on my generac whole house. 864628 and for the shop, i use a set of chepo meters on the manual start switch. 877689

Check or replace the battery cables. They rot out internally over time. Also, verify all connection points on battery cables ate clean and tight. Use sandpaper if necessary to clean up. Also, if you can twist the battery cables at posts, there not tight enough

I had an old one to use for drilling ceiling joist for electrical during new construction….long time ago. I could walk along the ground and drill the joists. Kinda like a pole saw, but a drill. Dont recall if it had reverse. Smoked out jobsites though with smell.

My 2020 rig has such get up and go, and is so quiet and smooth, i am really impressed. I tend to be hard on the peddle, so i only get 18 mpg. But after driving a slug of a diesel 94 dodge ram, i appreciate the quiet, powerful ford.
