My JD 80 dump cart fix up

Well it wasn't quite a restoration. I bought the cart from a neighbor for $20. The id tag has the # 813. The box and tailgate were in terrible shape. The previous owner welded some 3/8" flat stock at the rear of the bed to try to hold it together. I discarded the box, tailgate and tires and...

    Trailer build for my 2520

I bought a welder in Jan and this was my 4th build. The first 3, a cart for the welder, a welding table, and a hitch receiver on my ballast box. I started out with a an old boat trailer I bought for $75. I wanted the trailer no wider than my tractor so the original frame was dissected and...

You never know what you will find at the scrapyard!!

I went to a scrapyard today to look for some steel. As a newbie welder I hit the jackpot. I struck up conversation with a young guy in the yard with a Lincoln engine driven welder in the back of his truck. He is a pipeliner. He was free for the rest of the day and offered to come to my house for...

2nd blow with 2520 and pipe skid mod

We got 4-5 inches overnight so me and my son got out the 2 tractors and cleared it up. The pipe skid on the blower bottom edge worked great. Not much snow was left. It has been cold therefore hard driveway and the snow was light but definitely a noticeable difference. Before the scraper blade...

First blow with 2520 and pipe skid mod

Finally got a chance to blow some snow with the new setup yesterday. Not alot but had to clear some drifts in front of the 2 garages. Sittin in the "original cab" on the new 2520 is sooo nice compared to out in the open on the 445. I had removed the scraper blades on both blowers and replaced...

I have done a lot of lurking on this section of TBN since the summer. I have wanted my own welder and finally decided to buy a new Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC. The welder and my new auto dark helmet showed up Fri 12/30. First thing Sat morning I was laying practice beads on scrap. On Sunday I...

    My 2520: working pics

I bought this tractor last May and so far it has been everything I have wanted. Just wanted to share a few pics of it at work. Thanks to all for the wealth of info given here, I have learned a ton since spring. A Lake Ontario fishing forum used to be my daily read but now its TBN

Plastic liner in snowblower impeller housing

I have been thinking about lining the impeller housing of my new 54" snowblower with 1/8" Delrin (McMaster-Carr). I would use 10-32 SS countersunkhead screws with nylon locknuts. I want to use machine screws so that changing the liner out down the road due to wear will be easier. I have been...

50 hr service on my 2520

At 46 hrs I decided to get this done. I researched a lot of previous posts for the 50 hr service on this tractor before I tackled it and the info given here was of great help. All went smooth until I noticed trans fluid leaking at my suction screen cover. I snugged the cover bolts a little more...

    Frontier Box Blades ?

Can anyone tell me the difference between a BB1360 and a BB2060. So far all I know is the price diff is about $30 (the 1360 more $). My dealer did not not have either in stock and could not give me any info on them. I did find specs for the BB2060 on the JD website but nothing for the BB1360...

    My drawbar carryall

I built this box for throwing a chain in when skidding logs. Could also hold a gas can and bar oil for the saw. I shimmed the drawbar to eliminate any sway. i built the box out of plywood, lined it with an 1/8" thick plastic material and framed the top with 1/8" x 1" angle and 1" flatstock for...

Toolholders on ballst box and receiver hitch

I added schedule 40 stainless pipes for toolholders on my ballast box and 3 pt receiver hitch. I drilled 1/4" hole across the bottom, cut lengths of 1/4" rod to put thru the holes and then hammered the ends of the rod like a rivet. Fabricated another holder out of some channel for D-handled...

    My toolbox

I almost went with 50 cal ammo can but came up with this instead. It is a SQ D stainless steel 30 amp disconnect switch. The interior components were robbed out of it and replaced into one in service. The new enclosure was then thrown out. The only holes were where the handle mechanism was...

    My Bucket modifications

I picked up a lot of great ideas here. I added an angle across the top. It was 3"x 4". I cut the 3" leg down to 1 5/8". 1/4" x 1 1/2" pieces up the sides. A gusset underneath the top at the middle and a 1/4" x 3" on the back middle.

    Gator Toothbar on my 2520

Installed my new toothbar tonight. The 3rd one that was sent to me by Gator Attatchments. I ordered it with 6 teeth for my 53" bucket. The first one came with 5. I called them up and they did not hesitate to make me a new one and send it out. The 2nd came with 6 teeth only problem was, it...

    Original Cab- Install/Remove ??

I have a new 2520 on order and have been considering getting an Original Cab for it. I only want to use the cab in the winter months when snowblowing. How convenient or inconvenient is it to remove or install it seasonally? How about breaking it down for storage? Thanks for any info. Eric

    Future 2520 owner

Hi I am new to the site, just found it and look forward to being here. I just made a deal on Sat for a new 2520, 200 cx loader and 54" snow blower. I was wondering how the plastic impeller on the 54" blower has worked/held up for those of you who have it. I have been running a JD 445 with a 47"...

Hi, new to site from NE PA

Hi, I found this site while searching out info on JD 2520's. I just settled a deal on one this past Sat with a 200cx loader and 54 snow blower and am highly anticipating its arrival. I currently own a JD 445 with a 47" snow blower, 54" blade, and 54" mower deck. That machine has been a real...
