    TYM vs Yanmar

I drove past some TYM today and stopped and looked at them, first mistake. I called the name of the dealer salesman on the sign, second mistake. 😆 He told me that I can get 1% interest on a 60-month loan. I know that I could pay cash and get it cheaper, but that is fairly cheap money. I have to...

John Deere 4510 - Your thoughts on this tractor

I'm considering a John Deere 4510 Tractor. Any thoughts on this tractor? I found a nice used one and may look at it tomorrow.

    Now what's broke?

Living in the country on 5 acres and maintaining 5 acres of our own, my MILs 3 acres, and also maintaining the wife's family farm's waterways, ditches, driveways etc. My FIL passed away on 2020 so it is pretty much all on me and my wife. I feel like something is always needing serviced or fixed...

    LS R4041 Hydraulic Fluid

I bought a 2012 Case IH Farmall 40B Shuttle Shift (being delivered tomorrow) it is the same tractor as the LS R4041 as I understand it. I went to the IH dealer to get the hydraulic fluid for it and they could not tell me how much I needed. They said it wouldn't be more than 10 gal. Well...

Is anyone running a 7' cutter with less than 32 pto hp?

I just bush hogged 5 acres of pretty thick 2' grass (3mph) and was also able to do some 4' tall grass (2 mph) with 19 pto hp and a 5' Landpride cutter. It seemed to handle it fine. It was thick grass and I realize if we were talking bramble or brush, it would have been a different story. For...

What do you all do to be prepared for long term power loss?

Curious what you all do to be prepared for a long term power outage due to weather, grid damaged by whatever. I've been telling may family to be prepared in the even of a sustained outage (longer than a month or two). I don't feel sufficiently prepared for an outage that long, and I know my...

    Well Pump issues

My son's well pump stopped working, he said it had been starting to make a lot of noise and had been that way for a while. Then it just quit today. We went and put on a new pump and were able to get it primed and pumping and then it would shut off with all the water lines still open and then...

What did you buy this week?

Well, I broke down and bought a little nicer truck than I've ever had. Bought it used with 118k miles. It is in really clean condition and looks like it had not seen much work in it's 7 year lifespan. The hooks where you put safety chains on the rear look like they have never seen a chain on...

Are tractors and equipment a good investment right now?

Over the past year I have been spending a lot on equipment. New tractor, many new implements, also sold some implements and have made money on all of them. But that was last year and this is this year. I am noticing used prices coming down to the point I see some ridiculous deals on slightly...

Hydraulic scissor lift won't go down.

I bought this BendPak lift back in November and finally got the ambition and a reason to put it together. Went together smoothly, lifted fine but now it won't go down. Any ideas here? It was when I was giving it a test run with no car on it. Here is a pic of the buttons to raise and lower. I...

Amazon Prices - Noticed they are higher in many cases.

Have you noticed that Amazon is no longer always the best price. In fact, the things I have bought in the past several weeks have not been the lowest at all. They are convenient for sure, but sometimes at a real cost. Check out the prices on Walmart, Kroger, etc. before blindly buying from Amazon.

What are you using to lube your implements and tractors?

What is working well for you? I've been working on PTO shafts, sizing, cutting and lubing since I've bought some new equipment. I've always just used grease but is there something that works for you that may be better. Also, I've been spraying fluid film on all exposed, unpainted, surfaces of...

    1980 Shibaura SD3000D - Thoughts?

I'm about to go look at a new/old tractor. I have had great experience with the Shibaura engines. Have had them in 3 different tractors, this would be 4th, so I know they make great engines. Start easy in winter and run very smooth and trouble free. I have no experience with the Shibaura...

    Good Tractor Prices

When I was looking back in the summer 2022, a tractor like this was non-existent on the used market. At least they were rare and gone fast. Now I am seeing more FB adds with good prices. I would have jumped on this like a duck on a June Bug. Anyone in TN needing a good compact?
