After much research, we've decided to buy a new Cub Cadet instead of a used JD. Hubby is really set on a hydraulic lift...is it really worth the extra $500 for the 3204 instead of the 2523, since they appear to be almost exactly alike except for the hydraulic lift (and power steering)?

Hi- We're new to the used garden tractor market, and we're looking at buying a 1997 JD 345. It has 600 hours on it. How do we determine if that is an acceptable number of hours? Are we better off paying more for a newer model w/ less hours, or do these JD's really run 'forever'? Thanks!
