Farmall 70A no start – ADIC (Analog Digital Instrument Cluster) displayed “Stop Sign” icon and DTC 3157. Also, once, briefly displayed DTC 14901. The tractor had been sitting outside for about 10 days.

I need to add wheel space for a Farmall 70A with 4WD. Case IH doesn't carry wheel spacers for these Farmall A utility tractors, so I will have to have them made, and accurate wheel dimensions are required. I measured the rear wheel pattern for the 14.9-28 R1 wheel plate: 8x203.2 mm bolt circle...
The Operators Manual doesn't call out the Workmaster wheel bolt patterns; neither does the CNH parts pages. I was able to measure the rear wheel pattern for the 14.9-28 R1 wheel plate: 8x203.2 mm with 152 mm wheel center bore.
The front wheel plate for the 9.5-24 R1 is a bit more difficult...
Farmall 50A, 60A, 70A
Has anyone had any cold weather issues with the CCV breather on the FTP engine? At what ambient temperature does the CCV begin to clog? I know that CNHI has a CCV heater kit for this engine. I'm trying to understand if/when this accessory is needed?
Here's a link to a DIY article for adding an implement lamp to CNH Workmaster or Farmall A series tractors:
Implement lamp retrofit
Cost is far below the DIA (Dealer Installed Accessory) option.
CASE IH always directs customers to take issues/concerns to their dealer, so I emailed our dealer and requested that they contact CNHI and inquire as to how the Farmall 70A should be fueled. I asked for the CNHI written response.
Issue:
The diesel fuel specification stated in the Farmall 70A...
The question of Ultraction fluid compatibility with Nexplore arose when I had to top-off the transmission fluid in a 2017 Farmall.
I called several dealers and received conflicting information so I contacted Viscosity Oil Company who supplies both fluids to CNHI.
Viscosity Oil Company has a...
I wrote an article about fuel considerations for high-pressure common rail direct injection diesel engines on LinkedIn. It was written around our 2017 Case IH Farmall, but generally applies to most modern diesel engines. Owners need to be knowledgeable about fuel for these engines: carelessness...
I started a thread in the New Holland forum that details information I was able to learn about this problem: Tractor de-rates to 1500 rpm with no fault codes displayed. In the thread I use the specific issue name and terminology used by CNHI. The Case IH Farmall A series is nearly identical to...
When running a Workmaster/CASE IH Farmall A series tractor (FPT 2.2L diesel engine), the tractor suddenly de-rates to 1500 rpm with no fault codes displayed.
CASE IH published a Knowledge Article in Jun-2018 titled "Tractor de-rates to 1500 rpm with no fault codes displayed". This Knowledge...
Last week the question of Ulltraction fluid compatibility with Nexplore arose when I had to top-off the transmission fluid in a new Farmall.
I called several dealers and received conflicting information so I contacted Viscosity Oil Company who supplies both fluids to CNH.

Here is a link to an article on Fuel considerations for CASE IH Farmall 70A.
It generally applies to most high pressure common rail direct injection diesel engines that require ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel.
On the buying-pricing-comparisons forum I have been asked there about how we made our purchase decision and I'm migrating the response to this forum.
I understand that the Zetor Major 80 and the CASE IH Farmall 75C are more in the same performance class than the 70A, but Zetor Major 65 wasn't...
I have firm quotes from dealers:
Case IH Farmall 70A w/L555 MSL Loader + Rear Weights-> $32500
Zetor Major 80 w/ZL31 NSL Loader + Rear Weights -> $35490
The Case IH dealer is 20 miles away, the Zetor dealer is 103 miles away.
Opinions?

FPT makes the 2.2L diesel engine for the Case IH Farmall 50A, 60A and 70A. It seems like they share the same basic engine (bore, stroke, injection). Does anyone know what accounts for the horsepower difference(s) among these engines?
It came time for me to replace the tires (13.6x28) and there were rust-out holes in both rims. The original rims are the 11x28 "power adjust" type with 4 rails which use the adjustable ramp locks. The original rim is OEM part 1751395M92 which is no longer available. On these original rims the...
I'd like to replace the hydraulic cylinder piston rings. Is it possible to remove the hydraulic cylinder piston without first removing the hydraulic cylinder?
Repair/Replacement of Hydraulic Standpipe 883788M91 on MF 135 Models with Pressure Control
Tractor models with pressure control use standpipe 883788M91 which has a diverter block to supply hydraulic fluid to the pressure control valve. This standpipe cannot be removed by pulling it straight out...
Massey 135 Deluxe with IPTO. I have a hydraulic leak between the pressure control tube and the standpipe diverter block. I tried replacing the pressure tube O-ring, but it won't seal. Do the O-ring & backup washer fit into a recess in the diverter or should the pressure tube have a recess for...
I have a Massey Ferguson 135 Deluxe with differential lock. I need to replace the oil seals on the right rear axle half-shaft. The I&T manual warns that the differential lock coupler will fall off and drop into the axle housing when the axle shaft is withdrawn, but two other manuals (Jensales...
My Position Control is not working. On other sites I have seen references to this issue: speciifcally the position control linkage becoming displaced when the position control lever is moved outside of its normal range of motion. Back in 2004 on a forum in Yesterday's Tractors, Big Dean Austin...
I have a MF 135 with 6-speed dual range transmission (without Multipower) and independent PTO (split torque clutch). I am ready to split the transmission from the center housing (drive axle) in order to replace the oil seals on the transmission input shaft. A quick question: is it necessary to...
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has placed the following document in the public domain: Cost-effective Rollover Protective Structure (CROPS) for Massey Ferguson 135. This document provides plans for constructing a DIY ROPS...
I was searching for a suitable replacement for Permatran III and I came across Valvoline Unitrac Fluid (http://www.valvoline.com/pdf/hd_unitrac.pdf). It is available through NAPA Auto Parts as part number VAL 813 in 5 gallon size. Note that Valvoline claims: "Meets or exceeds the following...
I'm brand new to this forum. There's a lot of good information and knowledge here. I am going to repair a transmission leak on a MF 135 (1967 Deluxe, 6-sp, Z-145). I assume that when I split the tractor I will find leakage from the input shaft seal. I"m pretty sure that I will also have to split...
