Hour meter counts when engine is off

International S1900 dump truck with DT466 starter issues

I have an old 1984 S1900 with the DT466 in it. It would periodically just click at the fuse box and click at the starter when turning the key. Other times, it would go ahead and fire off no problem at all - spin over fast and everything. When it would only click, a few turns of the key and it...

Yet another building on fill thread

Hey guys - I am building a 50x80 gambrel barn/shop using structural insulated panels (thermocoremo.com). The trouble is that the building site needed to be brought up about 4'. While the required footing will be resting on virgin soil, the 6" thick interior concrete slab will not be. An...

    Septic line distance limitations

I will be building a new home and separate outbuilding this starting this spring. I'd like to put a half bath in the outbuilding. Does anyone know the feasibility of tying the outbuilding to the house septic tank? I suppose the real question is whether there is a distance limit I need to stay...

    Footings - rocket science?

All this talk about foundations getting dug and setup has me wondering. Everyone I talk to says to hire a pro to dig the footings for the ICF house that I am building this spring - that way it is their responsibility is something goes amuck. If a guy has a laser level, a backhoe, and a tape...

    HD bucket or Bobcat bucket?

I am in the process of getting a new to me Kubota L5030. Trouble is, it has a light materials bucket on the 853 loader. I've spoken with my dealer who has confirmed that the tradeup to the HD bucket from the light materials bucket is $400. He also mentioned that with the quik tatch, I should...

    Personnel lift height

Spencer's pole barn project and personnel lift has me majorly tempted to weld a personnel lift like his, but tall enough to enable easy access to a second story roof. The preliminary idea is to build pretty well exactly what he did deckwise (albeit 48x72), but have the second deck 9' off of the...

IH3200B losing hydraulic fluid from breather

I have 70's IH3200B skid steer. Since I have had it, it has pushed hydraulic fluid out of the top-mounted reservoir breather when I lower the bucket anything other than very, very slowly. The full line on the dipstick results in the fluid level being very close to the top of the reservoir...

    Quik Tatch conversion

My L3830 came to me with a pin-connected bucket. Has anyone picked up the quik tatch connector for their FEL and modified their bucket to work with it? I'd hate to blow the almost $1K to buy a new bucket with the conversion kit, but I am really liking the idea of using some quick tatch FEL...

    toothbar adjustment

I am looking to build a toothbar for my Kubota L3830. The ones from Markham Welding, etc are interesting, but I noted that my local Bobcat dealer ones have an adjustment bolt setup that allows you to place the bar in the bucket, attach the bar up against the cutting edge using the side...

723 FEL hoses rubbing on hood

My 723 FEL hoses are rubbing the paint off of the 3830's hood, despite the fabric-like covering over the hoses. I have a zip tie around the hoses attached to the d-ring looking add-on on the loader arm for now in an attempt to keep this from happening some more, but surely there is a better way?

    BH90 grease zerk trouble

Is anyone aware of a grease zerk tube extension? My 2003 model BH90 backhoe has a grease zerk pointing straight up right at the left-right pivet point. Trouble is, the zerk has severely limited vertical clearance - even a 90° adapter is ineffective at getting in to grease this fitting. I...
