    Disking up an old field

Interesting thread. Glad I found it. I have a 6’ cheap disc built on angle iron, and a 27hp Bobcat tractor. It’s 4 wheel drive, but does not have ag tires. I’ve got a small 3 ac field that’s grass and poison ivy. I’m going to try and plant some clover, and anything else that might attract...

12v vs PTO sprayer for 3901

That looks good. I was only considering a 3 point sprayer because I don’t want it in the back of my Side by side, because my grandkids ride back there all the time. The little trailer might be the ticket. Thanks

12v vs PTO sprayer for 3901

I just have a couple of small foodplots, and one 2 ac field I want to spray. I talked to the local coop but they won’t spray because of my trees. (100’ booms). So I’m going to get a sprayer. It looks like the one with the 12 volt pump would work ok for my small stuff. The question I...

    CT 225 pull 6 1/2’ disc?

Thanks. I don’t mind doing a few extra passes. I was thinking of putting a few cinder block on board also. I’m talking a total of less than 12 acres. I’ve never pulled a disc before. I know zero about setting it up. No idea how much hp I need to pull it. Was hoping with four wheel drive...

    CT 225 pull 6 1/2’ disc?

Found a relatively inexpensive 6 1/2’ disc harrow at RuralKing. Made by King Cutter. Doesn’t seem very heavy duty, but I’m just going to use it for a couple of acres of food plots, and maintaining 9 acres of CRP. I don’t have AG tires on my CT225, but have the utility tires. Think my Bobcat...

Mowing on the backside of the dam

It’s funny, the pictures make it look flat. I was in low with the front wheels pulling and my left heel on the rear diff lock to get up the backside. It looks flat here. Hey, Eagle 1, I’ve been through Viburnum a bunch of times. Alway on a motorcycle. Ha! Beautiful country down that way.

Mowing on the backside of the dam

I got both ends done, and a little bit more along the top. I’m just not comfortable getting on anything steeper. Maybe I’m way off, and the ct225 with loaded tires could tilt a lot more. I’m just not going to find out. I’ll weed eat the rest when it cools off.

Mowing on the backside of the dam

That’s my fear. They’ll go right through the dam into the pond. Then the water follows the path right back out. (Once the trees die). These trees were just a few years old. I don’t think their roots went all the way through the dam.

Mowing on the backside of the dam

I have a CT225. I’ve spent the day chainsawing the backside of the dam. Pond is 8 yrs old. I haven’t tried mowing the back side. I noticed sycamore or cottonwood trees, locust trees, and some elms were growing up near the base of the dam. question, whats the best way to mow back there. I...

    Bobcat CT225 Broken hydraulic line

I guess I’ve been lucky. I’ve pulled those connectors apart three times, but haven’t damaged a hose. I wonder if a section of hose and a couple of radiator clamps might patch it? But if it’s only dripping, it’d probably still be dripping. Hope you find a easy solution, but my guess is...

    2012 CT225 Noisy HST

I’ve only got 200+ hours on my 2012. The hydro does make a fair amount of noise. Could be my fault, as I let the fluid level get low last year. I almost always have on hearing protection, so I don’t notice it very often. Still runs like new..

Anyone else have trouble with the brake lock?

Mine is working ok. Not perfect, or as well as it did when it was new, but it works. For the last year, it seems like 90% of my seat time on the tractor is dragging or pushing downed trees out of the way. We had a huge wind storm come through and I lost 100+ big trees. I’m on and off the...

So far, so good. I’ve got it to work. I just have to really push down hard on the brakes. It stays locked. From the warnings on the above posts, I’m being much more careful about lowering the bucket and using that for a brake also. For whatever reason, it seems like a lot of my tractor time...

I’ve tried to get a good look at it. There are three notches in the bar. They appear to be fine. The plate that drops into the notches looks ok. Mine started off popping off a time or two. It evolved into just not holding at all. I’d shut down and use the loader to hold the tractor as best...
