    Controlling implement working depth

Ok, so if I understood you right, lever can, actually, control the depth. That. pretty much, was my question. Thing about ripper is, because of the C-shaped shanks, it needs to be dropped all the way down to the ground and THEN shanks go full depth in, as they are angled at about 45 degrees into...

    Controlling implement working depth

I have 3015 series Branson and, am pretty sure, implement 3 point height control in the rear is about the same across most tractors. Lever control, up/down. So here's my question. I have Fred Kain ripper/scarifier and am trying to figure out, how to, possibly control how deep it goes in with...

    How to engage Branson cruise

Ah, ok. I don't really use tractor now, that it's January, but it's in low 40s and I can pull it out tomorrow and experiment. That CC ticks me off. Thanks

    How to engage Branson cruise

Says, what does not work. Refers to page 4-7 and page 4-7 has picture of instrument cluster. DONE. I just fingered through every page in manual again, and it does not even have CC reference.

    How to engage Branson cruise

Thank you. I'll try. So get to whatever speed, tap button for a brief moment, let go of the pedal. I'll. also, check if there's any adjustment to that magnet.

    How to engage Branson cruise

I have 35hp Branson. Not even year old. I can't figure how to engage cruise. Silly it may sound. Just pressing cruise green button usually drops speed to slow creep. I need to lock it at about 6 mph for mowing. I had it done once and never managed to repeat again. Do I just tap it, or press...

    NEW 3015 oil leak

See, I am not the only one who thinks so. I am VERY nice to people. I accomplished many things, by being nice to CSRs on the phone. My wife hates me for that, as I am sweetness and kindness on the phone. Or, in emails. That "you don't know what you talking about" was about #6 email in chain of...

    NEW 3015 oil leak

I have another dealer that welcomed me right away, if it makes you feel better. Like it or not, simple fluid level check before sale is dealer duty. I have VERY good people skill and am proud of knowing that and am well aware that, dealer, willing to work with his customers and build...

    NEW 3015 oil leak

Question. Picture #4 in my post #24. Yellow coupling. It leaks oil quite well. Can I safely remove the piece and put oil resistant tape onto the threads? Safely as in - it's hydraulic line, I'd not want something heavily pressurized to blow oil all over garage.

    NEW 3015 oil leak

I dropped loader down to the floor and curled scoop up. ALL hydraulic cylinders are fully retracted. Only extra fluid is in hoses. That said, it took almost a gallon of hydraulic oil, to rich full mark on DS. Confident, transmission was under filled. Front axle took about a liter of gear oil...

    NEW 3015 oil leak

OK, so here's new findings. Front axle has no oil on dipstick. I checked several times - DS is bone dry and I DO KNOW how to check level on DS. Transmission does have some fluid in it, just not all the way up to the DS. Why would I be raising tractor front, if it's level? Posting pics of where...

No sight glass. Just like the picture above, with orange umbrella handle.

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

Gotcha. Did you use grading blade as blade though? Facing forward, as it should?

    NEW 3015 oil leak

Excellent, thank you. Well, if loader has no major bearing on TF level, then I surely do not have enough of it. DS was bone dry. And I checked loader yesterday, sitting outside. All hydraulic cylinders have pistons fully recessed. I do not believe there is much TF left in them, considering 37L...

    NEW 3015 oil leak

Yep. Rubbery handle does not help a bit and there's no space to get fingers between the plug and that meatl edge right next to it. But, that's not my question WHAT IS THE PROPER WAY TO CHECK TF LEVEL?
  16. U

    NEW 3015 oil leak

Yes, I know. Except that in my case, the ? yellow handle is in what in your pic is orange (red?) filler hole plug. And, due to its shape, when you try to turn it, fingers hit ridge on transmission case. Plus, ? rubber is very soft and bends, not allowing to have good purchase on it. Unless they...

    NEW 3015 oil leak

Dipstick. And a weird, candy stick like yellow filler hole plug. That was another surprise - it is, actually, made out of some rubber type material. Does not have ribs to undo it and is very close to bell housing, so to screw it back in is a bit of adventure.

    NEW 3015 oil leak

Loader is not mounted, I took it off Saturday. Will this mean that few gallons of fluid is in the loader hydraulics? As I shined light inside transmission - it's transmission case, not differential - and there is none visible. I checked user manual, it mentions not a word about checking fluid...

    NEW 3015 oil leak

So I took flashlight and went to take a looksie here and there. Surely enough, I pulled dipstick from the rear axle. Not even a sign of oil on it. 7 hrs of running on ticker. I could have fried entire rear axle.

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

Aha, so you did use grader blade. Question though do I have. You said - pulling it? Picture shows, you are pushing it, like a dozer blade, aye?

    NEW 3015 oil leak

I'll get it up on ramps weekend. I am hoping, it's leak from the top. Drips from the very bottom of the rear differential bell housing.

    NEW 3015 oil leak

I have new, few weeks of possession, Branson 3015 HS. It's parked inside and I noticed oil stains on the floor. Last weekend, got myself under and found that it appears to seep from a seal between the rear differential cover and driveshaft cover, if I am using proper terms. Apparently, they used...

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

Appreciate all the advice. Waiting on good neighbor's tiller to come from repair. I'll start with tilling high spots and moving loose soil into the depressions. Bucket should do for that. It's gonna look ugly for a year...

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

Well, I'll give tiller a try. I'll practice on the flatter top level, it still has few hillocks, but in the lot back, out of sight. Pictures posted are, unfortunately, "curb appeal". If tiller works, I'll move down. If not, I'll consider going for broke and dozing it. I'll have too doze only...

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

Geese did pretty good job this year too. They chose not to leave for winter and I had easy over a hundred of them feeding on the grass.

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

Here's maybe a better perspective on terrain. And entire lower property tier is like that. Top is a bit better but still very bumpy.

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

Thank you. Harley is too expensive I already have very bad experience with box blade. I borrowed neighbor's tractor with it and, due to constantly increasing rear end weight, as it collects shaved soil, caused tractor to deep stuck in mud. Pictures may look nice but reality is, it's hell of mow...

    Using a Land Plane (Grader)

I came across a very good thread place else, about using land plane on turf. From first hand folks that tried it. LP is NOT a tool for that. On areas, they tried LP on tiurf, they then had to till over cut clumps and such, to make it manageable. LP did just that - tore and clumped rooted sod. It...

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

OK, so I finally have tractor. 30Hp compact. Loader and 3 point. I live on 6 acre, 1/4 of it is wetland with puddles and mud. Property is 2 levels. It's all grass, with some trees. Upper level is more or less graded flat, just bumpy. Lower level is like as if driving on lake waves. Small hills...

    Using a Land Plane (Grader)

Ok, so it can be used for leveling mounds. My property is what they qualify as "natural grade". trees cut, that's it. It is full of several inches tall/few feet wide hillocks. Mowing it is literally like riding a boat on waves. All i want is more or less smooth surface. I don't care if sod is...

    Using a Land Plane (Grader)

Has anyone used land plane of any design, to regrade poorly graded lawn? Not the roads. Grass mounds. My lower property tier is basically like lake waves. Upper tier is a bit better, but still very bumpy. Mowing those 5 acre is killing enterprise, as the result. Like boat on stormy water. Yes...

    Question to Flail Mower Nation

Here's my question I have Y blades on my tow behind mower. Blades edges span 3 1/4 inch wide. (3.25) Widest scoop blades I could find are 2.6 inch. So it's amost an inch narrower blade. Considering that flail blades are overlapping, can I still replace my Y blades with scoops? I want...

    What's wrong?

I have flail mower with this engine: 15 hp 420cc JiangDong electric start That engine is basically Honda knock off. Everything worked fine till today. I towed mower out into the filed, started it, start mowing - after about a 100 ft, it dies. Engine shuts down. Start it again - starts fine...

TOW BEHIND FLAIL MOWERS OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND PARTS

I'd like to create a dedicated thread for tow behind mowers. Flail tow behind. This thread here: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/118882-lets-talk-flail-mowers.html Is not just 600 pages long, what is overwhelming at the best but, also, took on so many tracks that it became to...

    Property/landscaping attachemnts for SxS

I ended buying Pioneer 1000 about a month ago. Intended use is tow behind mower, mini property truck (it already hauled and towed 3 weeks in a row, after last storm) and, ideally, some useful attachments I can hook up. I doubt we ever will take it out into trails. But anyway. I went to every...

HELP to make decision on what I need

I am absolutely in mad circle on what to go with. For about a month by now. here's situation: 6 acre property in PacNW. Rains half a year or more. Property is 2 tiered. lower tier is partial wetland. Wetland adds up to 1.25 acre. It gets muddy and full of puddles rain season but dries to the...

    Box scraper vs grading blade

I am buying 1025R JD next Saturday. With mower and front loader. I have VERY uneven property. It was never properly graded and is what is called "natural grade". Equals to basically waves on lake during mild storm type of surface. Bumps, valleys, puddles of sitting water, runts from rain. It is...

    MASSIMO UTV

I am in a bit of a pinch. My 2002 Foreman 500 is likely to blow the engine any time soon. So far, bought used, it was continuous repairs. At this point, I started considering a new UTV, a side by side. I don't want to buy a passenger car worth of UTV. From what I see, most cost efficient are...
