    Ground powered (tractor) dump cart

Please don't laugh. This is a "concept build" to prove my idea. All this stuff was just pulled outta the scrap pile and will be redone now that I know it will work. I have built many dump thingies over the years ( trailers, site dumpers and even a dump truck) and really didn't see the need for...

How to build a fire bowl

Get a nice stainless salad bowl outta the cabinet and drill a hole big enough to thread in a 1/2 inch pipe nipple. Start adding expensive TEES,NIPPLES and CAPS. You can make this any shape or size you want. Drill some 1/8 inch holes wherever you want, but make them around a inch and a half to two...

    Speaking of big vises...

I built this monster several years ago when I was floored by the price of a truly big vise. The curved part of the jaws were cut from a discarded welding tank and I welded several reinforcement plates on the inside of the curve extending to the jaw. The screw is a inch and a half machine...

    Log splitter as metal brake

Didn't take a picture of the setup but it's easy to explain. I just took a piece of angle iron and rounded off the outside of the "V" a bit and slipped that over the wedge. Then I cut a "V" notch down the length of a short piece of 4" X 4" wood and butted that against the ram. The metal to be...

    Log tongs

Made these today... Just some 3/4" X 3/8" flat stock heated up in the wood stove and bent into a hook. Then,I backed that with another piece of flat stock to make a "T" cross section. Some 1/2" pieces of stainless round rod make up the teeth.

    Need help with axle..please.

I think I have the problem solved with the violent sway on my trailer. The DPO/builder just welded some 1/2 inch pipe to the frame for the top of the spring shackle straps and ran 3/8 bolts through. This left a lot of side to side play.Fixed all that. Now I would like to redo the bushings on the...
