1433 hood will not unlock to raise

I am really feeling that I am having a bonehead moment. The hood on my 1433 will not unlock to raise. I can pull, push, tug, and yank on the lever and it will not unlatch so I can raise it. I am going to look at the manual again, and the tractor again. The frustration level is high!!! I need to jump it off. I am hesitant to push the submit button, but here I go..........

try pushing down on the hood with one hand while moving the latch forward/towards the front of the tractor, I had to do that on my 1433v once,when you do get it open give it a shot of penetrating oil.

I did try that, but I didn't put that much pressure on it. I will give it another try. Thanks.

I find that most tractor hood latches are problematic to get to open for some reason. They seem to get in a bind or something and require lots of tugging, pushing pulling etc to finally get the right combination for it to open. Sometimes it is also movement side to side that triggers it. Both my LS and my Kubota are that way and I keep them greased well.
Must keep tugging on that lever and moving the hood around up down sideways.

if by yourself ....

use "taped" jaws on a pair of vice grips ... attach to hood handle lever , ... connect ratchet strap to back of vice grips , attach other end to seat... tighten strap to pull lever ... then go fight with the hood ...

Finally had time to look at it today. I sprayed it down, from underneath, with PB Blaster and let it sit for about 20 min. Still stuck. I took a punch and hammer and tapped on it, fairly hard, until it finally moved and I could open the hood. I sprayed it down with Blaster again from the top and had to moved 10 times or so before it freed up and worked properly. After all of this, the battery was shot so I had to get another one. Thanks for the replies.
