1525 massey loader cylinder

i am going to put kits in my dump cylinders both are leaking down,,i have rebuilt cylinders on my bushhog backhoe before..it was no big deal ..but on the massey i couldnt tell how to get them apart...has anyone elseran into this ??? can anyone tell me how to do this ..?? i may just have to take it to the dealer and have them do it ,,but i would rather do it myself,,,thanks for the help bruce

Seriously, there are loads of retaining configurations. I've done some massey, but you really need to post pics. That's the only way I can advise you of the way to disassemble. Many dealers just farm out their cylinders anyway, so if you wanted to have them done, just take them to an independent shop yourself. Post pics and we can help you out quite easily.

Going from memory, there is an outer snap ring to remove, then an inner. When you take the outer off you have to push the seal head in to get to th inner ring. I think you can get the inner off with a small screwdiver & pry it out. It snaps into the inside of the barrel.

sorry wayne no brother named vince,,, ..not that lucky...i did take off the outside snapring then a washer,,thats where i couldnt find out how to go any farther...i have a picture of it back together.. i had already given up when i put my post on here...i have to use the tractor all week so maybe next weekend i can try again thanks for all the replys and help bruce

The only thing that gets me is the 2 pieces on either side of the snap ring. I would remove the snap ring, then tap that piece in with a brass punch. There may be an internal snap ring inside. That machine doesn't look too old, I would find a parts breakdown. I'm sure I have done this style before, but with my memory, many jobs are like the first time. Not as bad as the 50 first dates movie mind you. Maybe my age is creeping up on me.
