I have the chance to pick up a 4ft yanmar tiller. But iam not so sure my little 155D can handle it? I know my engine is 15 hp 2 cylinder diesel, and I think its PTO is 13 hp output rating. Can my little tractor work this tiller ok?
The price is $625 and Im thinking if I want it I better act quickly or it will sell fast?
Thanks.

I wouldn't jump on that until someone posts and confirms that a tractor this small can lift a 4 ft tiller!

Those tillers sell anywhere from $350 to $650. The price is reasonable but it's not a once in a lifetime deal.

The 155D should run that tiller just fine. I have a Yanmar RS1303, which is 53" to use with my Kubota B7100HST, which is 16 HP / 13HP PTO.

I haven't used it yet (just got it, and need to replace the tines; which I have, just haven't installed them). The person that I bought it from used with with a YM1500 (17 HP / 15 HP PTO) and said that it worked great with that tractor. These tillers commonly shipped along with tractors like yours.

You will want to look at the tines before purchasing it, as replacement tines are $200/set + $40 shipping. I paid $200 for my RS1303, but it will have cost me $440 once I have it ready to use.

If they're pointy like mine, they are worn out (see this picture).

I would say, if it needs tines, I wouldn't pay $600 for it.

Sounds like good advice guys, thanks. I did call him and he already sold that one. But will be getting another one from "his importer". I will check that one out when he gets it.
Any other info is greatly appreciated, and thanks again guys!
P.S. you guys are fast on response too...hehehe

Before I got my first tractor, my neighbor often loaned me his 155D with a 5' Yanmar tiller to groom my horse arena, garden and driveway. Had no problems at all. As pointed out in previous posts. its not usually a power problem but a 3pt lift issue.

I purchased a new 4 ft wide tiller from Danny Parker for my YM1300D. Works like a champ, no problems with my power.

Man, i guess the good ole days of getting a tiller from the dealer for $300 is over. That's what I gave for RS1400 when I bought my 2000. Five footer which was in great shape. Had it five years and it still works great. Wouldn't want one any bigger. Good luck.

Ya i paid 1900 for my 48" tiller and that was the cheapest i found. I couldnt find a used one for under 1500 so i said screw it and bought new and then at least i didnt have to replace tines or anything.
