Can"t find the transmission filter on MF 1635L power shuttle. Tractor dealer sold us a screw on filter but can't find where it goes.

In the front between the frame rails under the radiator? I'm pretty sure that's where it is.

On my 1635 it is on the right side of the engine compartment, inside from the right front tire. It is painted gray from the factory so it might be hard to spot if it hasn't been changed previously, but it is visible with the hood closed.

Radrock, I agree with you, seems they left the 1 out of the manual. The 8L in the hydrostatic transmission/hydraulic fluid chamber appears to be 18L or 4.75/4.77 approx. U.S. gallons.

Massey Ferguson 1526 hydrostatic transmission/hydraulic fluid change
Just did the 50 hr. service on my M.F. 1526 sub-compact tractor. Things went ok, manual has arrows that point to some of the wrong locations for check/fill plugs etc. but if you are mechanically inclined you will figure it out. The biggest thing I found is that the manual call for 8L of fluid and that appears to be a miss-print. I believe it will be 18L of fluid. I currently have 4 gallons in the system and it is still not registering on the dipstick. Another gallon or slightly less is what it is going to take. 18L converts to approx. 4.75 U.S. gallons.
