Good afternoon, folks.

I have a 2555 that developed a fuel leak yesterday after clearing some, apparently, 3000 year old muscadine grape vines. The leak appears to be coming from the water sensor on the bottom of the filter. This is now the second time a filter has been damaged by something popping up from under the tractor to hit it. The first was my hydraulic filter.

Does anyone have any recommendations for protecting or moving these filters? I thought about putting some plates under them, but the only solid place to mount the plates would be to the frame, and I’m not sure about drilling/tapping the frame or welding to it. So, I’m thinking moving them may be the best option, but I was wondering if anyone else had done it, and if so, where did you move them to?

Thanks!

I replaced my oem filter with a higher capacity and lower micron filter a few years ago, relocating it in the process. I put mine on using existing threaded holes in the loader frame. It's up and out of the way enough, but it would have been easy to add an "L" shaped plate underneath the filter and between the filter and loader frame.

Simple enough idea (the L bracket), and yet I didn’t even think about. Thank you!
