First of all thank you guys for all of your feedback, especially to those who stuck to my original request of giving feedback/experience with the 6.0L. I figured that I'd get replys that offered no help. For example, "I had a 6.0 and hated it.". Great, but why?.....
Anyways off the soapbox.
So, I met with the service manager at that dealership that orginally sold the truck and did all of the service/repairs. What a helluva nice guy! They were very busy and he spent nearly an hour with me going over the many questions I had about the fact that this truck had a new engine installed. The truck developed a bad injector and the previous owner apparently kept driving it until and snowball effect of events led to the injector coming apart going through the piston and so on......
Ford, under warranty installed a new complete long block with new turbo and other assorted items (water pump, etc.). Service mgr. stated that the new engine came with updated parts that were known to cause issues in the past. Everything was also reflashed to the updated programs issued by Ford. Truck had never been hurt and was very clean as well as never chipped, etc.
I have the balance of the 100K mile warranty on the engine and also negotiated an addition 4yr./50K mile powertrain warranty through Ford. The service mgr. also provided me with all the records available (Oasis, build sheet, etc.). I found that the truck other options that I was not originally made aware of.
So all in all I feel very comfortable with this truck and finally have something I really like. While we were there we also dumped the wifes 05 Suburban for a 07 Suburban LTZ with very low miles.
What a very long stressful day but in the end we are both very happy! Thanks again guys for all your input.
