2305 Neutral start..

At first it didn't bother me to have this thing in neutral to start, but now after two days of hopping on and off all day long its become a lil bit of a pain in the ***!

Did a search didn't see any post on it, any way to turn off or remove the neutral lock out.. so i can start in high or low?

I also have a 2305, I love it but it was bugging me when I had to stand up or get off the machine it would die due to the seat switch and forgetting to put it into neutral. After much thought I disabled the seat switch and that solved my issues. One warning though, get into the habit of always using the parking brake whenever you get off your tractor, hope this helps. Thanks going to do that tomorrow, still won't allow me to start it with out being in neutral right?

You will still have to be in neutral to start,as far as I know its that way in all modern tractors, in the past operators were injured or killed when standing next to their tractor and engaging the starter while in gear. The tractor may suddenly lurch and run over the operator. Anyway disabling the seat switch resolved my issues and made the tractor more user friendly. Glad to help Mark

Whether you have good reason or not, it is not a good idea to remove that safety feature. Should you forget, or someone, perhaps a family member tries to start it, I don't think you could live with yourself afterwords. I had an occasion that comes to mind, and I almost ran over myself. Machine had a sticky hydraulic pedal, and a disconnected neutral switch. It is just too scary, thinking about yourself laying under a tractor tire or run over across the middle of your body. I would recommend not to remove the neutral start up feature.

Thank J.J but my model it still won't allow you to start it unless its in neutral, so really all this buys me is allowing to have the pto on and being able to keep it in gear to hop off and get back on.

Mark i think most of the others will allow starting in gear, just need to push clutch or break in first.. Wish that was how the 2305 was, but I'll learn to live with it, its the only draw back i have found with this lil power house. love it!
