I am nearing first service on 2520. Does the same hydraulic oil in the transmission go roundy round in the loader? If so what's in the loader is a mix of what it came with and the transmission oil? Also does anyone know if a 300 loader bucket will fit on a 200? I would like to have an easy to mount/unmount lightweight attachment for pushing snow out of my driveway . I have a stamped colored and sealed concrete drive and would like an attachment with a soft contact area that would not destroy the drive. I would rarely use it so it need not be heavy duty. I can't think of method of attaching something soft to my loader bucket or I would do that instead. Anyone run into this already?

The same fluid is used to run the hydrostatic transmission, the loader, the power steering, and the 3PH-all the hydraulics on the tractor use the same fluid and share the common sump.

The bucket will interchange, the QA spacing is the same for all the loader through the 400 series.

A piece of horse stall mat (TSC sells them for $40) or even a wood 2x6 bolted to the edge of the bucket will keep your drive safe.

Not only will it fit but I've done it. I used my friends 73"HD bucket with tooth bar on my 2720 (same tractor more HP) with good results, in fact if I was getting a 2x20 series I would order the 300cx bucket. Just make sure to ballast it properly as it's heavier. The down side is you won't be able to lift quite as much.

Deere make a snow push that has a rubber cutting edge. This also has a leading edge unlike a blade and it easy on concrete. I have pretty much what you do for a drive and I use my 84" snow push and have never made a mark or chipped the concrete in 4 years. Many people do not like them becasue you can not push the snow to one side or another, but it works well for me.

I think it depends on how much snow you're pushing. What area of the country are you in?

Michigan. Its not uncommon for me to push 12 inches of snow for a 1/4 mile. Once the snow push is full it starts going out the sides live a V plow would. They use them in large parking lots here all the time. Its the only thing I would use on staped concrete and it works real nice in gravel also.

Hmmm... I wonder if this would work on my 1/4 mile driveway too? I really don't want to lay out 5 grand for a front plow. I could get a rear plow for much less but looking over my shoulder sucks. Although, now that I think about it I could run the rear plow with the front blade and it might not be so bad. Thing is, I love front plows and if you have ever used one it's hard to go to something else.

Thanks guys, good info to know. So am I correct in assuming any 300 attachment would fit the 200? I looked at the price on the as10--wow! I might need to attach a board or rubber on my bucket.

Fit yes, but some are not recommended-like the bale spear due to the linited lifting capacity.

I wanted a quick attachment for my loader, so I went this route to try it out. I will never go back to a plow. We get a ton of snow up here most years and by pushing the snow off tot he sides all the time you start to build a wall that will drift in very fast. I have made a few places that I can push the snow and make piles. I can easily pile snow 10 feet high, and i do it in a clump of trees to avoid the large drifts it could make. It takes me a bit longer to do, but it looks better and lasts longer than a plow. Now a plow on a truck with some speed will throw the snow a ways, but I never move snow that fast with a tractor....:confused2:

Yeah, they list for 1,500, or at least did when I looked. I found mine on a deere lot and offered a stupid price and they took it. It was worth every penny, and now knowing what it will do, I would pay list price, if I had to, for another one. Think about it this way. How much will it cost for you to fix your stamped concrete if you chip it? The snow push pretty cheap when you look at it that way.
