I skipped a school assembly today to stay in the welding shop and work on my 3 part fillet with 6010. Do you guys have any tips for it?

I take it as you mean three pass fillet weld?
What is it you want to know? To answer this question, there is the simple answer as to how to stack each weld half way on top of the other. Or how to get the requested toe and throat of a fillet weld. To do proper fillet welds you'll need one of these.

I just need to know how to get them 50/50. I know how to stack them, you make your first pass then you go halfway down that bead and make your second then your third pass is just filling in the top. Also should I whip 6010 I talked to the instructor and he said to whip it and keep your arcs a 16th of an inch apart is there any reasoning behind that also?

That just comes with time. In time you'll learn where you are at while your head is under the helmet / hood. When most people start out, they're lost soon as the hood drops. If you can't see 2 to 3 inches away from the puddle while welding your lens is too dark. You have to be able to see whats happening around the puddle, as well has what the puddle is doing. In time you'll learn how much height you're putting in as well, you have to, some inspectors will call you on the throat of a fillet weld just as quick as under sized toes.

I whip my 6010 / 11, but I was reading a thread on another site where pipeliners were saying they do not. They run 6010 just like 7018. I need to try that, I might like that better!
