if all goes as planned, next week, a co out of oklahoma will be building me a 30X50X10 enclosed barn. i tried my best to find someone in the local area, but i'm not going to pay more money for local labor, especially the amount of difference i was being quoted.

Just curious, are you using BCI Barns? They built mine.
Congratulations on your new barn-to-be

tried to use BCI, but i wanted the skylights in the eves instead of the roof, and they wanted more $$$$ to do that: so i am going with DT construction..$6350 for a 30x50x10 with one walk in door and one 10ft sliding door.
plus BCI was 9 weeks backlogged, and DT said he could be here next week..so we will see if it all happens as i was told.

no floor, i "may" put one in, at least part of the building, i plan on enclosing and sealing a 10x20 area to put things i want to keep critters out of...other than that, just dirt

I want a 30x50x12 with a 20' leanto and concrete under the 30x50 area..... I'm getting quotes of over $50K for that. Has DT got a website? At that price --I'm still looking.

When I get enough cash to build im going to use gravel as part of the floor to park trailers, implements, etc..
Im going to use concrete on the Workshop area.

This is all an effort to save money,Hopefully alot of it.

no website mentioned in their ad: no toll free number, if they show up like they said they would, i'll let you know about their building ability. their price says a 30x50x10 with a 15ft shed for $7800.

Mike - I put up a 30' x 40' x 10' metal building fully insulated, one walk in door, two 10' x 10' roll up doors (one each end), 3 windows, 2' overhang all around, 4-12 pitch (standard was 1-12), and guttering. I priced it at Morton first. They quoted something like $26K. I went to Mueller. Their basic prefab bolt up kit was about $5500. With all the options I chose (noted above) the kit was about $9500 I had a concrete contractor build a slab with extra steel and concrete for $6500. That put the total about $16K. I plumbed it myself and built in a bathroom complete with shower. All that plus a litte more and I was still below $20K.
If you are so inclined, Mueller is a good do it yourself project. Takes a lot of hours, but feels great when you finish. Or they can put you in touch with local contractors that will put it up for you. They have lots of standard sizes available. Check their web site. And they are local.
