3320 vs L3800

I haven't seen one of these mentioned here at TBN and, it is true that Deere doesn't offer a BH for these tractors. However, it looks like there is one available through Wallenstein.

Not sure I'd want to put an aftermarket hoe on a tractor that the MFG doesnt. There must be a reason deere didnt offer one? Would adding that BH void the warrenty???

The kubota is a very fine tractor if he can live without some of the bells and whistles and deal with the hitch. It is a quick way to save some cash since JD doesnt offer the hoe on the economy line.

But IF the bells and whistles are what he is after, I agree with others that you need to compair to the L3240 or L3540.

And it looks like the 3320 deere falls right in the middle between the 3240 and 3800.

The deere 3320 is about 300 lbs heavier and has about 500lbs more lift capacity on the FEL and 3ph vs the 3800.

But the 3240 is about 500lbs heavier and has more lift capacity front and rear than teh 3320.

The BH's, on paper appear to be about the same for all the models.

I'd expect the price of the 3240 to be closer to that of the 3320. But I think right now, he needs to decide if a "deluxe" model is worth the extra $4k

Wallenstein make a good backhoe too, i have a gx620 for my massey.

What do you mean "deal with the hitch"?

Do a search for L3400 (predecessor to the L3800) jerky 3PH and you shall have days on end of reading.

I have heard that the L3800's are better, but still worth testing it out before buying.

I might add this, Deere built those tractors to be capable and affordable. If having the hoe as an option raises costs...they might have eliminated that idea.

Does anyone know how the rear end is setup on the 3032 and 3038. Are they perhaps cast aluminum instead of cast iron and maybe that is why??? They are almost a FULL 1000lbs ligher (~30%) than the 3320. And even 500 lbs lighter than the notoriously light kubota 3400/3800 series

And aftermarket companies make parts all the time that will void a MFG warrenty. Wether it be tractors, cars/trucks, etc. And I see this being the case. I would want to make CERTAIN that deere will still honor the warrenty if one is seriously considering putting a BH on a 3032/3038

Actually I believe it is very much price related, to add the option of a hoe 4 point mounting plates would need to be designed to fit that specific tractor as well as the fact that the 3000 e's do not have power beyond capability. The E was created as a Kubota fighter as a simple loader tractor. I know of a couple of e's with hoes on them, no problems have occured. 1 unit is the basic three point mount and another with a wallenstein hoe using the 4 point plates, both powered off of pto pumps. This was the same for its predecessor the 3203. The backhoe mount plates do not rely exclusivly on the rear axle, browse some of the aftermarket hoe websites like wallenstein and woods and you can see the mounting plates. To really know for sure the pricing question we would need exclusinve info like what is the take rate on any 3000 series tractors with hoes, or the take rate on hoes being put on advantage tractors like the 4105 (that is hoe capable). If these #'s are low designing an att as expensive as a hoe to fit could be just throwing $ out the window.
