We are gawking at a 2012 Deere 4120 for sale below the bridge here in Michigan. We call that area "the land of trolls" :). It has 2700 hours on it which is more than any other used tractor we've looked at. Is this more hours than we should be considering? thanks!

That's just under 500hrs a year (approx). As long as it was regularly maintained to the schedule, that's not an 'overworked' tractor. I'd seriously consider it were I in the market.

It's also pre-tier 4!!!

Thanks Wag, Another qestion. What it be effective or of value to test the engine oil, or hydraulic system or its transmission oil? Its a shuttle shift version.

thanks!!

Yes, for your own piece of mind.

However (and there's always a 'however'), the longer it takes to seal the deal on a private-deal tractor the more likely that the seller will simply let it go to another buyer.

Perhaps you can make the tests a "condition of sale" during the negotiations?
