Oh. Not to complicate matters but on my entirely different machine the release is on top of the tram pump control. I don’t think yours is the same but.

I think the nut you are red arrow pointing at is your idle position or neutral adjustment.

Ok just to clarify i do have the 425 so it could be different but I have had that pump in and out 4 times and it definetly looks like your pump as well . I am pretty good at it now. The little cap that MossRoad is pointing at is what I am talking about. On the bottom of the pump if it is like mine there are 2 of the larger hoses that go into the bottom of the pump. My has a manufactured steel blocks (2) that they attach to, one on each side of the pump. On the side of the blocks is that little cap covering one of the bypass connectors. There is one bypass connector on each side on the bottom side of the pump on these steel blocks. I am attaching a picture of each side of my pump of the connectors.

Ahhh, now i see what you mean! So a hose attached to those two, one on each side, connected together.

Now, as to why. The engine just slowed down and stopped. I can't turn it over with the starter, just a loudish clunk, even with both spark plugs out. It's possible the starter hung up on the flywheel and finally got tired of spinning around at engine speeds. I didn't notice any unusual sound/sounds, but then my hearing isn't as good as it once was.

Did you get a bleeder hose with your machine, and does it have a fitting on each end? If so, that should work for your bypass, too.

As for your engine issues, you were driving along and then it just slowed and stopped, and now you can't crank it with the starter? That doesn't sound good. With no compression with spark plugs out, with cold oil, you should still be able to crank it easily. Yes, your starter could be hung up in there, and I hope that is the problem, but..... anytime I've had an engine slowly loose RPMs and then lock up, it's been bad. Like seized pistons, crank bearings, out of oil, etc.... Let's hope for the best!

Let us know how you do getting it out of the field.

Also, even with the bypass in, go nice and slow. When I had my bypass hose in, I was able to crank up the FEL arms off the ground with a ratchet strap, and then was able to push the machine around my driveway and garage very easily.
