First. Thanks everyone for all the info I've gleaned from this site over the last year and a half. I have studied the subject of CUTs ad nauseum. I looked at the NH Boomers, didn't like the dealer, then came real close to jumping at a Kioti DK35 w/ loader/ R1's w/ fluid for 16,600. I had not really looked at JD as I was under the impression that they were too pricey. I was all set to buy the Kubota 4x4 3130 dt/la513 loader/ R1s w/ fluid. Had a cash price quote of 16,000 delivered from a dealer 130 miles away. I looked at the 4310s at my closest JD dealer who happens to also live very close to me. His dealership is 20 miles away. He said get your best price and I'll beat it. I got a quote of $15,800 for the 4310, sync shift, 420 loader,12.4/24 R1's with fluid from another dealer. He offered me the same deal for $15,500 field ready. I was suprised that JD's could be had for less than a Kubota. I still think the 3130 may be a better unit but I like the 4310 very much. Getting a 4x4 and a loader and sychro gears will be such an improvement over my 1972 Ford 2000 gasser, no power steering. Just as important is the advise I've read here countless times that the support of the dealer after the sale is critical. I'm lucky that I've known him for many years and I trust him to do right by me. I know that the power reverser and the heavier 430 loader might be an improvement but that would have put the price too high. All in all I think I'm getting a good tractor at a good price. I'm working some plans for a home made ballast box to keep me busy while I wait for delivery. It could be 30-45 days. Seems the sync shifters are pretty rare so he's probably going to have to order this one from the factory. Thanks again. I will post some bragging photos when the new unit arrives.
