4400 john deere starting problems

I have a 4400 john deere tractor that quit running and will not turn over. Have power but no contact when switch is turned to start. Pump solenoid will not click either only dash lights will work any ideas of the problem?

My 4400 had a similar issue years ago. Accessories would work, Try to start it would click a couple time and then all electrical and then come back after a few minutes. My situation actually ended being the battery posts. I cleaned the grounding point and then put new battery posts on and it solved the problem.

Not to say yours is having the same issue but it is definitely an area you want to look over.

Wasn't the battery posts it was the terminals that go to the posts. My positive lead had about 3/4 of the copper strands broken. It was still able to carry low amperage to the accessories but as soon as you tried to crank the starter it couldn't handle the amperage.

Honestly I thought this happening was kind of a rarity but last year the connectors for the battery on my boat had the same exact thing happen.

you need to clean your battery posts the the connectors that go on the battery posts and check the ground connection from the battery. Get
some dielectric grease from amazon or where you can find it this will
help keep the connections clean from corroding
better yet just get a cheap vom meter and go on youtube how to use
a vom meter. With this knowledge you can trouble shoot your system

Does the terminal from the switch have 12 volts where key is turned to start?
Does the starter solenoid click when key is turned to start?

Your limited supplied information makes it difficult to provide suggestions.
It could be the battery and/or battery cables/ connections or safety switches.

Many including me are willing to offer suggestions, but we need info.
